A shooting just occurred at NW 77th and 24th NW. There is one victim. I don't think he or she is badly hurt, as most of the medic units have already been released back into service.

    More in a minute.

Apparently there was a crash, the suspect vehicle left, then returned to the scene and fired shots. The suspect vehicle is a Grey Mazda Protege with no plates and a loud exhaust.

Suspects are two white males, one wearing a grey hoodie and the other wearing a black hoodie. Officers at the scene are requesting a gang unit.

Streets are closed at the scene.

It isn't yet clear if the victim was hit by gun fire or just shaken up.

Thanks for the details there Silver. Insomnia has me checking all the sirens on the dispatch log. This incident is very close to a family member.

Scanner traffic says possible shots fired now in U-District around 45th & 19th NE. Not sure if incidents are related. Could have been fireworks. SPD investigating.

My favorite part of the story is the girl asking the cop for her cigarettes. Ooops forgot thats where I keep my cocaine! Something tells me her SAT scores werent very good!

    Doh!
While giving a statement to officers, the female victim asked that officers retrieve her cigarettes from the car. As officers went to get the cigarettes, they observed a small baggie of suspected cocaine inside the cigarette pack where she had been sitting. The 19 year old female passenger was then placed under arrest for Investigation of VUCSA (drugs).

Lol. Amazing that she would ask for her cigs knowing that was in there?? I hope it wasn't an illegal search? It's just confounding to think anyone would be so foolish. But then she is just 19 yrs old, I don't know. *scratches head*

I suspect you make bad choices when high on coke....like forgetting your drugs are in your cigarette pack.

If you replace the words "suspects" and "victims" with "geniuses," that article is even more fun to read!

In the olden days, I remember a more worldly friend teaching me how to "cover your sh*t", and most of it came naturally (except for the best way to sneak some goo-bud into a concert at the Coliseum). This would have included NOT allowing any authority figure near said sh*t, especially not the cops, and definitely not asking them to fetch it for me!

Let's just hope she has no offspring yet.

So, the shooters were released after it was determined that the victim's car wasn't rammed?

    WTF?

    What about the bullet holes?!

There was no gun in the car they stopped. and neither car had ramming damage despite the guy saying they were rammed

i believe it was determined that the "suspected" shooters were just some lookey-loos who matched the description of the shooters' car, but weren't actually the shooters.
