Bear Sighting at 15th NW at 75th

If you're wondering what the heck is going on up between 14th and 15th and between 70th and 80th, the police are tracking a BEAR. They have a wildlife guy with them.

Now heading southbound on 13th NW from NW 77th. It's 12:39 am.

Just heard them say that they're at 7526 13th.

It sounds pretty funny - a little like keystone cops.

They have bear hunting dogs with the wildlife guy. Now they're in the 1200 block heading southbound.

A bear... I saw a raccoon today... sure, but a BEAR? Is he lose from the zoo... I saw them speeding up 14th Ave NW and a wildlife vehicle was following ( I thought at the time that it was a containment trailer for police dogs.) Wow!

I think the mountain lion that showed up in Discovery park a few years back was thought to have come down the railroad tracks. I kind of came in in the middle of this, so I don't know if they have any idea where he came from. Poor thing sounds scared though.

I was just listening to KOMO news radio and they reported 1:08 AM that black bear sightings were reported just outside of discover park on Saturday and Saturday night. Then they assured the listeners that no bear sightings have been reported since then... umm... YES...HELLO...BALLARD I guess it was pre-recorded - so much for up to date info.

He must be jumping through people's yards... poor thing. I hope this end soon so they can get him to a safe place. I am guessing the police can't just give up... grabbing the morning paper off the porch might have new meaning otherwise.

Yeah, I couldn't sleep now if I tried. The scanner has gone quiet. They're probably "engaging with" the bear now. Either that, or he's gone to ground.
