...are on their way to 59th and Phinney. Police are looking for two white males in black hoodies and a white female. I don't know what for. K-9 is going.

Not sure what they are wanted for, but they are tracking them with a K-9 starting from 59th and Evanston. Police believe that the suspects are still in the area to the west of the Zoo.

Zoo security just informed police that they saw people with flashlights inside the Zoo near the gorilla cages.

Maybe they'll accidentally hide in the lion exhibit.

Well, its pretty much, wait no, its entirely their fault if something happens. I'm sure they're not *that* stupid. The zoo is a confined space, the worst place to go if you're running from the police. Hope the dog gets to bite the stupid outta them at least.

I'm a block from the zoo - lots of sirens. I hope the animals (residents of the zoo) are not too perturbed or disturbed or harmed by the human animals.

Kinda weird to hear them say "heading southbound toward the gorilla cage" - bet that doesn't happen everyday ;o)

Guardian One is being pulled away from the scene in respond to an assault on a deputy in King County. They are apologizing for needing to leave.

True, Crownhiller! I can honestly say that I have never before heard that phrase uttered on the scanner.

As Crownhiller said, they were just tracking "southbound toward the gorilla cages."

The two K-9s seem to be converging. One set is leashed.

Sounds like there's a "victim's vehicle" somewhere on Phinney and they're sending someone over to it. Still no indication of what actually happened.

Both K-9 units tracked the suspects to the same location. They believe that they escaped across Aurora. The search is being called off.

Perhaps the Geeky Swedes will look into this on Monday and see what they can find out?

Streaker actually has a funny story about KIRO from when they showed up to that SWAT incident up on 30th & 63 awhile back. Off camera the television media are unbelievably crass with one another, que surprise!

I just spoke with Jonah Spangenthal-Lee of SeattleCrime.com and he was able to tell me that the three suspects were running from the scene of a car prowl. He's got a story on the incident here.

They lost sight of the suspects? Maybe they did manage to get into one of the animal's cages - & depending on which cage/enclosure they infiltrated, the suspects re-appearance will depend on.....Oh, never mind!

I'm relieved suspects were not out to do intentional harm to any of the animals (or liberated them from their shackles) at the zoo. But I do hope the prowlers are apprehended because I find it unsettling when thieves are not caught.

I still get lost easily at the zoo while in a crowd and with a map....I can't imagine trying to chase suspects through the zoo in the the dark. So glad it didn't turn in to a shoot out. Hope they catch the suspects !

Streaker, several years ago I was involved in something that got alot of media attention. I gave an interview to one of the KING people and the next day that old dude from KOMO showed up and was really nasty to me because I had talked to KING and not KOMO. He insisted I give an interview to him and I was so shocked that I did - he actually took me by the arm and dragged me. Every time I see him on TV now he makes me sick - I was in a stressful situation and he bullied me. They are VERY competitive.

Anyway, glad none of the animals were harmed. They might have been a little surprised to see people running around at night though.

That doesn't surprise yours truly PL. There were a couple other news crews up there besides KIRO. The KIRO crew happened to show up first and when the other crews showed up lets just say the conversation between them ended up being loud and about sex toys. That's the PG-13 way to explain the conversation believe it or not. They're definitely not all as PC as they want to appear to be to the general public.

Indeed. I was rooting for the elephants to use their trunks and wrap up the suspects. But no such luck.
