I'm not sure, but given his track record, it probably wouldn't end very well :-)

Proposal??? NOTHING of the like has been offered. Had I - HENRY THE KING - proposed, you would have heard your LORD and KING say "would you merry me" since no one heard his royal highness utter "would you merry me" he could not have said "would you merry me" therefore the NO proposal was offered.

AND HERE THE KING WELL on this point for it is no little part of my reign: MY track record is NOT the problem, rather the track record of MY WIVES is the problem. And for ending well, it always ends well.

Perhaps I should send a few of you to the tower to sharpen the senses around here!

Heard - I think that was a proposition - entirely different beastie, and not out of character for our Lord and Liege ;o) - though I'm intrigued by the use of "merry" vs "marry" there Mr. King - did they have freudian slips in your time? hmm....

Maradona was pretty entertaining at WC 2010. Not enough to be let off the hook for the 'Hand Of God' though.

When I saw the subject matter of this thread "After he says I do" first thing that came to my mind, before even opening it up, was "He don't."

Hey Henry, I bet you are turning in your grave now that the Anglican church is about to become part of the Catholic church again!
We might forgive the RC's now that the pope is allowing them to use condoms!

Truth be told not really. For me it was less about faith, and more about freedom of choice for ME, the KING, and regaining control of the wealth due to me by the grace of my birth. Between appeasing the Emperor, the Pope, the damn clergy in my own country and collecting the wealth that should have been mine from a church that was siphoning it away in the name of “indulgences”… Well combine that with the dead marriages and it was just too much. To simultaneously sell an indulgence, and send a portion to Rome, yet command me King of England to stay married to a woman who was never freaky enough for his royal highness was more than any monarch could bear. Had I been really concerned about reform we would have taken a page from the Presbyterians and gone all simple and plain. Alas, I had a thing for headwear done in a papal style so we kept it gaudy.

HV3 - Well to your credit you were part Welsh although I am not sure you ever did a lot for Wales during your rule and you had 3 more wives than I have had, however I have never had any of them beheaded.

Question, Why, when you had granted yourself the power of legal divorce, did you still chop the heads off two of the others? Impatient maybe?

PG - I was about to type H8 then saw "hate" :) Silly me. It's late and I must be getting dorsally. BTW I heard an announcer on the TV here use the doolally word the other day and I thought of you! Which is funny because I have no idea who you are.

PG - thanks for asking. He fractured his pubic bone and his pelvic bone and has refused pain medication. So for the last couple of weeks he has been in serious pain and miserable. Today went to see him by myself in the hospital and he was a lot more cooperative. I think he is finally realizing that he has to get out of there and into a nursing home. Tomorrow the nursing home folks will go and do an assessment on him and if all goes well he might be in a nursing home by Wed. or Thursday. My return ticket is for the 14th so I really hope we can get this settled by then because my sister is staring to break down with all the stress and I might have to get my ticket changed, which I will do if I have to.

PG...I think ider meant the head chopper.

I don't take kindly to men talking to pennygirl or any woman the way he has...even if it's all in jest.

I say us women need to ban together and give the head chopper a "Welcome to the 21st Century" party that he won't forget.

If anything, they may be ticked off at Steve Hodge not burning Maradona himself. The shirt may actually be worth some money :-)
