Go on then!
Posted 2 years ago # -
but I know nothing about this sport
Posted 2 years ago # -
Soccer. Red card. Yellow card. Faking injuries constantly.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!Posted 2 years ago # -
Edog...
You demonstrated that with your preposterous bet :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Either that or you lost the expectations game in a big way, Penny.
But of this preposterous bet nonsense. You tried to bet me 1 million I'd never been to Lansdowne Road. There is no chance in that bet, I know if I've been, or not, so why would I accept a bet to lose 1 million. THATs a preposterous bet!
And still it stings me we decided not to go to the game that night.
Posted 2 years ago # -
It's Wales, Edog. My expectations were never very high to start with. Still worth a bet though.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Lots of talk about the beautiful game here I see. :)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yes, we were just talking about whether Drogheda United would be able to come up with the required 185,000 Euro to stay in the League of Ireland next year. Penny bet me 5p they wont.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Edog - I can loan you the 5p if you want!
Posted 2 years ago # -
Thats nice of you, but no thanks. See I plan on buying into the team for a 185K share. Thats how I'll get my 5p.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I bet you 10p you don't Edog.
Posted 2 years ago # -
man, I was hoping to hear about intrepid pedicure tales.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yeah teigyr,
I thought he misspelled "foodie".
Those always turn into long threads.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I thought it was 10 quid for the other thing, and 5p for this thing?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Hey, is Wigan Athletic being demoted?
One Nigel too many I guess...
Posted 2 years ago # -
Edog...
keep up with the betting slips.
It's 10 quid on the Lansdowne game, and 10p (my bet) on you not buying into Drogheda U.
Posted 2 years ago # -
oldguybc....
Never say never but in Wigan's case probably say probably. Along with West Ham and Wolves. The only difference being Wolves will pull it out in the last month and send one of 3 other Midlands teams down: The Baggies, Brum or Villa. Rudy will back me up on this :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
but 5p that Drogheda does find 185K?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Drogheda, Ireland or Australia?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Ireland http://www.droghedaunited.ie/
Posted 2 years ago # -
keep hearing talk about a "super international league" with the top sides from the UK, Spain, Germany, Holland, Italy, United Arab Emirates, sort of a perennial World Cup league, is this all BS or is it a possibility?
Posted 2 years ago # -
That's what too much morphine does for you oldguy :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
It certainly looks as if the relegation is happening alphabetically. If your team name starts with a W, you'll be fighting until the end. I really think that the Wolves can pull it out. Believe!
Posted 2 years ago # -
I hope the wolves pull out of the back end. I hope it starts on the 13th though... I need my gunners to catch up to boring Man U.

When I was little, my grandma's family would go over to my great aunt's (grandma's sister, Tia Alicia) on Sunday afternoons. They had a patio over a small cliff, overlooking the river-that-was-really-a-sewer, and the field beyond. The field was in front of the slaughterhouse and open market, and the vultures lined the roof by the hundreds. On that dirt field, city teams would get together and games would take place all day long. My great uncle, Tio Miguel, would spend the whole time we visited outside, watching the games, with his transistor radio glued to his ear, so he could also hear the narration. I remember that I could feel the air disturbance crossing space every time a team scored. Watching from afar, you could feel the GOL GOL GOL GOL GOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!!!!! coming through the air to be heard through the radio, like a wave of energy.
Sadly, that field was washed away by Mitch, as was the patio. The slaughterhouse is still there, but I don't see vultures anymore. But the futbol never dies.

Big time footie time coming up, who is playing who besides the Pack vs Steelers?
I'm talking over the pond footie...
Don't have time to look it up on the web...
Besides...
I'm a HOCKEY fan myself...
GO SHARKS!!
Just watched them punch out the Boston Bruins back there two- zip!
Next... Ovetchkin and the big bad Caps...Posted 2 years ago # -
oldguybc...
Big time footie? That was today! Biggest upset in years :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
ah, common mistake, confusing footie with footsie...which I adore...
Posted 2 years ago # -
Wow... I guess! Accounts for all those people driving on the wrong side of the road on the A4150 Beltway... party time tonight! Which is... according to my calculations... RIGHT NOW!!
Posted 2 years ago # -
They beat the unbeaten ones. So, not only did they WIN, they took away Manure's chance at the title of 'The Invincibles'. I'm still giddy :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
not sure what should be considered more shocking... wolves beating manu... or newcastle coming back 4-0 against my arse.... probably the latter. i think it is the first time it has ever happened in the prem (coming back from 4 goals). albeit with only 10 men and your best defender taken off... but who am i kidding. hide the knives. good lord that is embarrasing.
Posted 2 years ago # -
but a very sincere thank you to wolves for maintaining the invincibles only belong to one team for another year.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I don't know what makes me happier...the fact that Wolves won, or the fact that The Invincibles title is lost to Man U.
Up next? Looking at you gooner :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Penny! Congrats and thank you! Let's see if the Blues can gain some ground tomorrow...I'll be curious if Ancelotti puts in his shiny new Spaniard against his old club.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Oh he will. Definitely :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
And just because I feel the need to carry on this top of the world feeling for as long as possible...
Towards the end of the match with about 5 minutes to go, one of the UK pundits said "It doesn't matter who you support. For different reasons...at this moment we are all Wolves fans."
Posted 2 years ago # -
Woohooo Pennygirl! I was at the shop and missed it. Didn't check the schedule! But Woohooooooh in absentia!
Posted 2 years ago # -
dsomers...
Your adopted team is doing you proud right now! Onwards and upwards :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
I feel guilty I missed this by being at the shop! I may see if I can get a small piece done tomorrow as a prize for Scrabble Night or something. To make amends!
Posted 2 years ago # -
Well this certainly isn't going as planned...ugly.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I had a feeling that would happen Rudy. It's The Dalglish Effect.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Is there another match on this AM Penny Girl??
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yes Penny. Do tell! Missing a match are we?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'll let Rudy take care of that one :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Rudy?? Whazzup?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Well? Out with it man!
Posted 2 years ago # -
PG I don't seen anything listed for today? Other than an article and some talk about 1/2 price at the Wolves Tshirt shop.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Chelsea 0 - Liverpool 1
Nobody was able to capitalize on the Wolves' upset over Man U.Sorry for the delay...daddy duty.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Rudy...
It beggars belief! Man U lose for the first time this season, but somehow - everything else works out in their favor!
Posted 2 years ago # -
I am so sick of them.
Posted 2 years ago # -
You and me both.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Posted 2 years ago #
-
How dare you.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Rudy...
If you get a minute or three have a scout around this Man U Forum. I think they're as sick of them (or one in particular) as we are :-)

Withdrawals and Injuries:
OK, so are these injuries for Wales new, or were these the ones you already mentioned?

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12010_6729783,00.htmland there is this on Keane now
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12010_6733967,00.html
Oh, well Keane's status has been off an on for a while. I guess its not a sport for the old. Speaking of old, it gets better, Trapattoni said that he did not suffer a stroke earlier last month, and that it was a scheduled surgery.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I may as well hand over the cash right now Edog. With those new additions, that's basically the whole team gone!
Posted 2 years ago # -
All your quid goeth to Edog.
Posted 2 years ago # -
The game still has to be played! There is a lot of youth on the Irish side. Looks like its solid talent with Premiership experience, and is indicative of a bright future, but I'm not sure what it means right now. The news leading up to this clearly shows its not the position their manager wanted to be in, and I take that as significant. I mean, he wanted experience before youth. The Irish media seem to have gotten their way with the future starting now, but sports reporters are barely one step above Internet Trolls, and these same writers would pull out the daggers if this goes poorly. Sometimes it works just getting a young guy in there and letting him pin his ears back and go, but, PG correct me if I am wrong, most of the Irish youth is in the defensive backfield. Seems like if its a bad decision to play the youth, if the game goes south, it could really get out of hand?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Edog...
I may be looking at the wrong lineup, but the only youngster I see in defense is Clark, and he's extremely talented. He's only uncapped for Ireland because he played for England U20.
