Dammit. Take all my toys away, I don't care. And I'm not hungry anyway. So there.
Posted 2 years ago # -
What the heck happened here? Did this thread actually manage to get back on topic (somewhat)? Shocking.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I'm just nipping over to QFC, does anybody want anything?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Pick me up some Pacific Islander and a basketball.
Posted 2 years ago # -
ST - one bottle on Islander and a six pack of the basketballs?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Do you think we can get the number of posts in this topic up to 200 in honor of the OP?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Fried chicken perhaps?
Posted 2 years ago # -
SPG - how about a big fried ratus?
Posted 2 years ago # -
And maybe we can get extra points for double posts!
Posted 2 years ago # -
They have Cyrus O'Leary Pies I like pie!
Posted 2 years ago # -
VB...
I dare you to venture to the Hillbilly location and pick me up a box of wine!
Posted 2 years ago # -
VB... Whatever you do make sure you steer clear of the basketballs from the poultry/seafood area. I've heard fishy things about them recently. Stick to the ones over by the cheese showcase and you should be fine.
And get PG a box of boxed wine while you're at it.
Posted 2 years ago # -
but they sell pie!
Posted 2 years ago # -
Edog - I wish those were vegan! Hmmmm
Posted 2 years ago # -
Edit :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Steak and Kidney Pie? Does it come in a box?
Posted 2 years ago # -
PG - I was actually driving up to the far north one day and stopped in the hillbilly store, I happened to park next to a Subaru with a UK sticker on it! Would that have been yours?
Posted 2 years ago # -
PG - almost everything in the hillybilly store must come in a box, one would think, eh?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Twas not me VB. But I'm of the mind that most things in boxes are good. Well, some things.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Do they have Whole Foods Market up there?
Posted 2 years ago # -
oldguy...
In the lowly land to the North? Yes...we have Central Market (same sort of thing, but what do I know), but pointing that out would defeat the object of the observation that everyone above 85th is a Hillbilly :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Head east on 65th (which is way south of 85th), keep looking around you as you go.
When you no longer see hillbillies you will see a Whole Foods store at Roosevelt Ave.Posted 2 years ago # -
I think the boxed wine is on sale too. Hillbilly folk love sales.
Posted 2 years ago # -
iPlod...
Are you saying there are Hillbillies as far south as 65th? That will annoy many people around here :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
Only when accompanied by a coupon Teigyr. Double savings! I'm off to Hillbilly Food Center!
Posted 2 years ago # -
penny, you hafta go over a hill to get to Roosevelt.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Oh ok! Then there must be Hillbillies dotted all over Seattle :-)
Posted 2 years ago # -
My hovercraft is full of eels.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Yeeeeeeehh, DOGIES!
sorry about the thread hijack but we have RAIN down here, over 2" in most places in the last 24 hours, mud slides, flash floods, BLUB, blub, blub...
73 MPH winds too, in Los Gatos
Posted 2 years ago # -
That's all well and good oldguy, but do you have Hillbillies? Or sports being played inside a grocery store?
Posted 2 years ago # -
nah, hillbillies are up thar! waaaaay up thar!
Only games played in supermarkets here are the usual, use your imagination...
"Cleanup on Aisle Four..."Posted 2 years ago # -
Ah, the good ole days of double coupons. I think Ralphs did it on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Ralphs was also known for the plain brown paper generic food and equally classy commercials. Up here, apparently, it is only known for that store the Dude from Lebowski goes to to write a check so he can purchase milk or whatever he was getting.
So does QFC sell Annie Greensprings?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Nope Teigyr, but I bet if you shuffled through the bottles you might find some Ariba.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Wait?! Who has Cyrus OLeary pies...QFC? Do they have Sour Lemon??
Posted 2 years ago # -
Never mind, wasn't worth posting on second thought.
Posted 2 years ago # -
Teigyr... LOL, the DUDE ABIDES!
Best scene ever, when they were picking up their buddy Donnie's ashes and balked at the cost of the urn, Walter says "got a Ralph's around here?"
Then they take the Folgers can full of Donnie down to the beach and he empties the ashes all over the Dude... the remarkable Coen brothers... anythng they make or ever made is worth seeing four or five times...PS... whatever happened to Olson's?
Posted 2 years ago # -
There is going to be a turf war at QFC.
basketballs vs tasers

Looks like basketball at the grocery store is catching on...

pg - is life so boring up in the outer nether lands that you have to dig up a year old topic for a new post?
You could start a new topic about horse meat and the abattoir in Aberystwyth owned by Dafydd Raw Rees, who's father was an auctioneer and quite a character in mid Wales when I was a kid. :) But that would not be Ballard related.Posted 3 months ago # -
If I did that we would be run out of town vb! Anyway that thread is so fabulous it deserves to be resurrected at least once a year :-)
Posted 3 months ago # -
GO STEERLERS!
There are a few threads that are legendary and therefore must be revisited. This is one of them :)
Posted 3 months ago # -
Methinks .... NCAA Tournament is around the corner
Posted 3 months ago # -
Sadly the kid doesn't work at the Hillbilly QFC anymore so he won't be partaking in the festivities this year :-)
Posted 3 months ago # -
Now all we need are some homeless :)
Posted 3 months ago # -
omfg. prepare for the backlash teigyr!
Posted 3 months ago # -
I have to say that QFC is better without the homeless hanging around. GFR
Posted 3 months ago # -
hahahaha. vanguy?
Posted 3 months ago # -
Maybe they got rid of the homeless by spreading cayenne pepper outside the store;)
Posted 3 months ago # -
The title of this thread tells me that the OP is looking at QFC in the wrong way. No, it's not a community "resource," nor should it be. It's a business, not a community center or homeless shelter.
And as a previous poster said, "Also, you can't really bitch about them asking people to vacate chairs in that seating area after a certain amount of time. It's a private business, and the very fact that they have that seating area at all and allow the homeless to come in and use the microwave is more than any other business would do. Next you'll be saying that they should allow people to sleep there."
QFC has no obligation whatsoever to provide a seating area, a microwave or other services for homeless people.

Maybe put a deposit on bottles & cans and create a kiosk away from the general public that sells malt liquor. While we are going for it put a deposit on dog poo & cigarette butts.
Streets may be cleaner

Omg.... So needed to be resurrected. The smirls of joy and basketballs are too much! Good belly laughs!

d-e-f-i-c-i-t
Maybe I'm just too smart for my own good, but if you really give a crap about the word, you'd piss your pants.
Twice.
Posted 3 months ago # -
"Maybe I'm just too smart for my own good..."
Talk about good belly laughs.
Posted 3 months ago # -
You laugh too easy.
Can't blame you, really, reality is a bitch for mutton heads...
Posted 3 months ago # -
I know I really should laugh at simple minded people like you, but you are so sure of your genius and so fond of trying to convince everyone of it, that you become laughable. Carry on!
Posted 3 months ago # -
You should see the smirls of joy in my eyes as a result of this thread being bumped. This is classic MB.
Posted 3 months ago # -
Smirls of joy is amazing. I'm adopting it.
