VB... Whatever you do make sure you steer clear of the basketballs from the poultry/seafood area. I've heard fishy things about them recently. Stick to the ones over by the cheese showcase and you should be fine.

And get PG a box of boxed wine while you're at it.

In the lowly land to the North? Yes...we have Central Market (same sort of thing, but what do I know), but pointing that out would defeat the object of the observation that everyone above 85th is a Hillbilly :-)

Head east on 65th (which is way south of 85th), keep looking around you as you go.
When you no longer see hillbillies you will see a Whole Foods store at Roosevelt Ave.

Ah, the good ole days of double coupons. I think Ralphs did it on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Ralphs was also known for the plain brown paper generic food and equally classy commercials. Up here, apparently, it is only known for that store the Dude from Lebowski goes to to write a check so he can purchase milk or whatever he was getting.

So does QFC sell Annie Greensprings?

    Teigyr... LOL, the DUDE ABIDES!
Best scene ever, when they were picking up their buddy Donnie's ashes and balked at the cost of the urn, Walter says "got a Ralph's around here?"
Then they take the Folgers can full of Donnie down to the beach and he empties the ashes all over the Dude... the remarkable Coen brothers... anythng they make or ever made is worth seeing four or five times...

    PS... whatever happened to Olson's?

pg - is life so boring up in the outer nether lands that you have to dig up a year old topic for a new post?
You could start a new topic about horse meat and the abattoir in Aberystwyth owned by Dafydd Raw Rees, who's father was an auctioneer and quite a character in mid Wales when I was a kid. :) But that would not be Ballard related.

The title of this thread tells me that the OP is looking at QFC in the wrong way. No, it's not a community "resource," nor should it be. It's a business, not a community center or homeless shelter.

And as a previous poster said, "Also, you can't really bitch about them asking people to vacate chairs in that seating area after a certain amount of time. It's a private business, and the very fact that they have that seating area at all and allow the homeless to come in and use the microwave is more than any other business would do. Next you'll be saying that they should allow people to sleep there."

QFC has no obligation whatsoever to provide a seating area, a microwave or other services for homeless people.

Maybe put a deposit on bottles & cans and create a kiosk away from the general public that sells malt liquor. While we are going for it put a deposit on dog poo & cigarette butts.

    Streets may be cleaner
