So, despite snide comments from other members of the forum, I am up for another Scrabble game (FWIT my son says my demographic is old geek). So on Wednesday night (April 06) I will be down at Asters with a Scrabble board (and a deck of cards in case I have to play solitaire). Game starts at seven. Hope to see the regulars and some new faces.

PG - Just today there was a snarky comment about Scrabble (well actually about Scrabble players) - that is what got me thinking about Scrabble today. I actually kind of enjoy some of the snark on this forum, as long as it is not unkind it can be rather amusing. So do you want to come play? (Yes, I am deliberately being oblivious.)

The mayor's robotic evil twin called and personally asked me to come to the BHS meeting. Am considering whether to ask the mayor about his dumping the commitment to hire more police or his dumping the commitment not to stand in the way of the tunnel.

Thanks Cate and DSomers, I'll keep checking back on when the next one is. My schedule is posted on Tuesday for the following week, and I drew Tuesday-Saturday this time. Plays hell with family life, and being able to get out and socialize, but it's a job. It has probably been 12 or 13 years since I played a game of Scrabble, so I'm probably easy prey on the board.

Alferd! Sounds good. We'll keep it Wed this time and see if we can catch you on the next one! Don't hesitate to call your own MB gathering sometime; Scrabble, Pool, Cards, general purpose beer sipping! Whatever interests you. No worries about being a Scrabble victim either! Its all for fun. Not very competitive. Hope the work week goes well!

dsomers - I live in the building - it will be easiest if I just run upstairs and get mine. Never done this on-line game thing so you may need to help me sign on to get us linked up with Heardonthe44.

I am not sure if you can play it on a lap top. I have it on my ipod and droid phone.

No worries, will have my iphone there. Will need a microfiche reader to see a scrabble screen displayed on it though! <grin> And I thought my little travel scrabble set was small!

Heard...name on Words with Friends is d_somers. Ready to roll on Wed. I have a portable microfiche reader so I am ready. Tried to borrow an electron microscope, but it was a bit bulky for the bike. This will do though!

Streaker! Unfortuantely I sent the ipad and the Samsung back. Liked em both, disliked em both....figured I would wait for round 2 and try again. So it will be the microfiche reader for me! <grin>

dsomers, I see the game in the queue. (Streaker Troll and I played two rounds already..not exactly the same as SCRABBLE but close to it)

lifeisamaze...I haven't read your response but the SCRABBLE crowd that meets
to play are good people and haven't kicked anyone out of the sand box yet that
I know of.

It should be pointed out that Words With Friends only has the ability to support a two-player game. Not quite sure how the logistics would work out with that in this scenario. And Cate, you should mention what time you'll be there or want to start.

Oops sorry. Start gathering around 6:30 or 6:45 with the game starting at 7:00 - not that we are to precise about these things.
lifeisamazing - glad your coming - it's a pretty big sandbox, can hold lots of people. No need to kick anyone out.
