    Associated Recreation Council (ARC) is seeking a Field Operations Director. As we continue to grow, it has become imperative to add this key strategic role. The Field Operations Director reports to the Executive Director and has oversight of operations for preschool, licensed school-age care, and enrichment programs. This is the perfect role for someone who is excited about building a collaborative, cohesive team that is aligned with ARC’s mission and strategy.

    The Field Operations Director guides day-to-day operations across all sites – working with field supervisors, advisory council members, and in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation. You are the ideal candidate if you have a successful track record managing teams in multiple locations. You must understand how to motivate teams, and have the ability to build relationships with all levels of staff.

    Responsibilities Include:
    •Actively supervise, coach and evaluate field supervisors, overseeing operations of preschool, licensed school-age care, and enrichment programs. Manage, mentor and develop staff, providing clear expectations to meet organizational goals.
    •Visit sites to observe weaknesses and strengths. Collaborate with field supervisors to develop strategies for improvement.
    •Design and implement high quality program tools and staff training plans to improve the quality and delivery of our preschool, licensed school age care, and enrichment programs.
    •Collaborate with field supervisors creating site-specific action plans, monitoring outcomes, and adjusting plans as necessary.
    •Monitor key program metrics, delivery, and outcomes and develop data informed improvement plans to address deficiencies.
    •Proactively work with field supervisors and training coordinator to develop and implement training programs for staff members, with a focus on retention, development and succession planning.
    •Ensure site operations adhere to all applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and Department of Early Learning rules, standards and compliance requirements

    Requirements Include:
    •Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible operations management experience to include leadership of staff in multiple locations. Experience in recreational services, or educational system preferred but not required.
    •Bachelors degree in a directly related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
    •Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor and develop staff.
    •Proven success managing programs at multiple locations
    •Demonstrated ability to turn strategic goals into operational strategy, creating plans for implementation.
    •Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external partners.
    •Experience interacting effectively with diverse staff, and ability to engage with the culturally diverse community that ARC serves.
    •Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to conduct effective group presentations.
    •Must have a valid WA State Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
    •Must meet all DEL licensing requirements, including successful completion of a background check.

    This position is a year round, full-time, benefit eligible position.
