gnoman, thank you for the heads up! We checked the wifi signals and also found xfinitiwifi that was not there before. Our Comcast box is also an aarris box. FYI, this equipment Comcast sold to us is about 3 years old, so they must have been planning this move for quite some time.
I just got off the phone with Comcast. They admitted they did turn our equipment into their hotspot without our permission. The hotspot function is now disabled. I gave the very nice person on the phone a recap on how wrong the whole program is, she agreed, and told me she would add my concerns to the list she has going.
She told me that no one would have access to our home network, our passwords etc. What a bunch of BS. They have no way of ensuring that, plus, they have manipulated privately owned equipment, plus energy charges for their own gain. If they want to do this kind of micro hotspot thing, it should clearly be opt in only.
While I understand your resistance to frozen food, you might try Amy’s Enchiladas. They come in several styles, but all share a very delicious sauce! I love the roasted vegetable and tofu version. They are cheese free, so I add grated cheese on top! Add some raw veggies to snack on, or a piece of fruit and you have a healthy meal! Watch out for the Amy’s enchiladas with rice and beans, they are a ‘carb fest’. The package with 2 cheese enchiladas are decadent and delicious, but I cannot eat both in one serving. You really need to balance those out with some fresh cold veggies on the side.
My issue rests with drivers approaching stop signs at arterial streets with no intention of stopping at all. They drive out almost into the intersection, much past the stop signs and hope there is on traffic. When I see this behavior, I slam on the brakes. How can I know if they are drunk, or just hoping I will speed up so they will not have to brake before they ‘merge’ in. If the sign says STOP, there is a reason.
Today when driving home, I was on an arterial with full right of way in my favor. There was a cyclist, stopped on a side street who chose to cross the arterial, directly in my path. Had I not stopped I would have hit him. He took the time to chew me out, saying he had spent a half hour waiting to cross that arterial and no one stopped. I stopped, and so did 3 cars behind me. Somehow, this older biker, in flashy biking gear was upset because several cars avoided hitting him when he was unprotected and confused. But in his favor, I will say, he had a helmet on.
Kimberly, I am so happy you found your dawgie! A note on tattoos for dawgies: At first, I thought it was an inhumane way to identify a pet, then I found out that tattooed dogs can never be used for research. While I do not want to ‘mark’ my dawgie, and have him chipped and always in a collar, perhaps a simple ‘too could be ok? One more note, it is tempting to take the pets collar off in the evening to make them comfortable. I am of the ‘keep the collar on’ school, because, who knows what will happen.
Funny QFC came up for me today as well. While I do not regularly shop there, I occasionally end up at many of them. My mama used to like to shop at the old ‘Arts’ on Holman ‘through the back door’. I was there last week and it seemed fine. Ballard QFC is on my list when I get the free coupons in the mail. In the last 2 months, I have picked up lunch at each of the capitol hill QFC’s. Had extremely different encounters each time. First was the north one. It was like the ‘Star Wars Bar’. Several poor souls, inside and out under the influence of unknown substances, some regular shoppers, and a well dressed woman with a bruise on her cheek waiting for SPD. Today, I picked up a sandwich at the south one. It was generally more pleasant. But, due to my inability to speak Spanish, well, I kind of went to the back of the line. There were several apparently new construction workers who needed help in Spanish to fill out the form showing which sandwich they were ordering. It was nice that the lone sandwich maker was bilingual and could help them get their lunch quickly!
NICELY DONE! Go Seahawks!
We heard it too, Ballarddawgie did not like it at all!
Mrs. Wahoo, I agree with you on a stadium full of hawks fans, but there is something to be said about the economics of the situation. If all the tickets go to in town fans, we are missing a bit of a boost in other ways. And rather than ‘many’ tickets for the guest team, I could have used a better word, like, 20%? Just enough to fill the nearby hotels, earn some tips for restaurant workers and have more shoppers. We have to pay for the stadiums…Would rather have 49’rs fans contribute!
Seems like the hosting city would want many tickets reserved for the visiting team fans, for economic reasons…
Sorry, I was wrong about emailing notifications of posts, it only has options for emailing notification for friend requests, messaging and groups…
Just checked my email, I did receive an email after someone messaged me on the new forum. I am no longer receiving them because I changed the settings- email answers to No.
I copied that from settings – email
Send an email notice when:
A member sends you a new message
A member sends you a friendship request
A member accepts your friendship request
A member invites you to join a group
Group information is updated
You are promoted to a group administrator or moderator
A member requests to join a private group for which you are an admin
Under settings – email, they all defaulted to yes, I changed them to no right away. I would have to turn them back on to test. Sorry if I am mistaken about something.
