You may want to consider posting this request on Taskrabbit.com. I needed help with a complex Excel-based project once, and I got help right away from someone who was highly knowledgeable. You set the work conditions (for example, work must be done in a particular location) and the price you’re willing to pay for the help, and people who find those terms acceptable will offer their services.

How can you tell the family members apart? Crows all look alike to me.

MsBallard, I live one street over from you, and I learned this morning that my next door neighbor had his car broken into last week. Do you know if your neighbors had locked up their cars and houses? Is our crime wave the result of unlocked car doors and bathroom windows, or do the break-ins involved smashed windows and crowbars?

I saw a female mallard threading her way between cars in the (very busy) Fred Meyer parking lot on Saturday morning. Am I the only one who sees this as a seriously self-destructive behavior on the part of the ducks? Shouldn’t we be considering a psych evaluation for these little guys, or an intervention?

The bunny was on 62nd, about six houses west of 32nd. I walked around the neighborhood a couple of times on Saturday (same day Miss Julie was walking around and noted the two new builds on the other side of 32nd) but no sign of the bunny. There are some pretty densely planted gardens around here (with plenty of overwintering kale). I don’t know anything about bunnies- do they tend to travel, or stay in one area?

I highly recommend Kathy Holzer’s firm (http://outonalimbseattle.com/). She and her team pruned our enormous, beautiful old cherry and pear trees a couple of years ago and did a fantastic job. We had obtained quotes from a variety of ISA-certified arborists and her rates were comparable. After interviewing them all we decided felt most confident in Kathy’s experience, and we were very happy with every aspect of our interaction with her – from the initial callback, visit for the bid, pruning, cleanup, and final invoice. We’ll never use anyone else.
