OK MyBallard, I am OFICIALLY no longer a 49er fan, have been one since Hugh McElhenny took a pay cut to go from the Huskies to the Niners.
I have always been an avid and faithful fan, but this year they 1) Tore up my golf course & made a parking lot out of it, and 2) Allowed a wife beater to play season games on their team, well folks, that’s a little too much!
    GO SEAHAWKS!

WAIT a minute now! On Jimmy’s map muggings are down by the waterfront or somewhere around 15th & Yesler… it’s not legal for this anywhere in Ballard.
Who do these punks think they are? Mars Hill flock?

Same song different year, saw two really good teams stink up the field and both win easily… looks like a repeat of last year, three games WILL be played between the two best teams in all of football, whoever wins the third game takes it all…
Didn’t I say the same thing almost exactly a year ago?

VB, got all the stuff on the list in a fairly safe place, the Tuffshed behind our house, probably more earthquake proof than the house is, just sayin’…
Still remember the Loma Prieta 7.1 quake of 1989, getting ready to watch the Giants & A’s, pictures flying off the walls, chandeliers swinging from left to right at maximum, three generations of women trying to get under the kitchen table, the youngest only a year and a half old, my son laughing so hard he almost fell over, shutting off the gas supply with a handy wrench, trying to find a cash machine (no luck) or a fast food place (Col Sanders on the El Camino in Santa Clara was the only one open), a line a block long, rushing to the hospital to be with my daughter, laying on a gurney in the hall with a neck brace on, she got into a multi- car pileup as it was happening, the memories go on & on…

Not strong here at all, raised all kinds of hell in Napa & Vallejo, nobody killed as of yet although one boy is still listed as critical, praying for his recovery.

    Ah Phoo, you’re a speed reader I see…

CB&P was a little British flavored bar/snack place in a strip mall on the north side of 205th St, that would be in Snohomish County, back in the 70s/80s my brothers & I used to frequent on my trips up thar… pretty forgettable place, don’t remember a thing about it except for a very attractive lady serving drinks and the goofy name.

Lower Ballard is fine with me, back in the day there was only Mike’s Chili and that little bar on 8thNW that went belly- up a while back, now there is the Tractor, Comor Byrnes, the Old Peq (is it still there?), a place called the 2 bit, never been there but WTF, Smokeshop, the Stepping Stone, probably many more, just name a place & my smiling face shall miraculously appear…
PS… My trip will include taxi fare for GiGi, that is a must! Not worried about teigyr, she will run there…
iPlod, yore still my fren, nuttin’ different there…

VB, what is meant by the “Seattle’s Brooklyn” statement is that, like Brooklyn, people from Ballard, when asked where they are from, almost always answer Ballard instead of Seattle, just as Brooklynites never say they are from NY, always Brooklyn, just sayin’…

That’s the Salmon Bay Eagles, been there forever, since before WW2, sort of a blue collar Elks Club, used to go in & play the slot machines when I was a youngster, always had pretty good food, open- faced beef & chicken sandwiches could not be beat! Surprised to hear it is still around after all these years, may drop in when I am up, thanks, Anya…

Up for just about anywhere & any time within reason, arriving 9/30, need a day or two to get my bearings, will work around any family get- togethers, etc… love dive bars, potlucks in the park are OK in good weather, will probably spend a lot of time driving around Ballard & re- familiarizing myself with things, places, etc. Hope to see some of those I have met, anyone know how to get ahold of iPlod or Dave Somers? GAM, BH, GiGi, looking forward to seeing all of you…

Pennygirl… damn, lady, bring Archie & the hellhounds this time!
