To say “thank you” for making Cupcake Royale the Best Cupcakes 2011 (Seattle Weekly, Editors’ Pick and Reader’s Choice) they are giving away a free pumpkin maple babycake with any espresso drink purchase.

The cafe is open from 8 a.m. to noon on Thanksgiving.

Owner of Cupcake Royale meets with President

Jody Hall, the owner of Cupcake Royale, had the opportunity to talk with President Barack Obama during his “Backyard Chat” last week in Wedgwood.

The audio is really low on this clip. You can read the entire transcript here.

Hall believes the president did get one of the popular salted caramel cupcakes she brought for him. “The Secret Service said they’d get him one if it passed the bomb-free test!” Hall says.

Where to participate in the caucus

Wow, lots of excitement around Seattle as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain make their appearances. So, how do you participate in this Saturday’s caucus? Here’s a good overview of the process, and Democrats can visit here and Republicans here to look up your neighborhood caucus location. If you’re unable to make it to the caucuses, at least you can participate in Cupcake Royale’s “Cupcake Caucus“: buy a cupcake to represent your favorite candidate. They’ll post the final results on Monday.

Hillary looks like she’s eaten a little too much sugar.

Bring on the ‘Deathcake Royale’

An annual tradition before Valentine’s Day, the folks at Cupcake Royale will soon roll out the “Deathcake Royale,” which they call “Seattle’s most lovingly lethal cupcake.” (Basically, it’s chocolate on top of chocolate.) But before it goes on sale on February 1st, you can race down to the Ballard store on Market today (Friday) between 3 and 5 p.m. for a “free sneak peek tasting.”
