Ballard light rail neighborhood forum on Dec. 5

This Thursday, Sound Transit will host a neighborhood forum to discuss the options for Ballard light rail development.

The forum will be held on Dec. 5 from 6pm to 8pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (5710 22nd Ave NW). The areas being discussed will include Smith Cove, Interbay, and Ballard.

Sound Transit says there will be project staff on site to explain the alternatives being studied in the environmental review process, and also opportunities to participate in small group activities, “to discuss how your neighborhood priorities relate to future light rail stations.”

The current alternatives being considered are alignments along 14th or 15th Avenues NW, with options for either a tunnel under the Ship Canal or an elevated bridge. The Ballard station options would be either underground or elevated on 14th or 15th near NW Market St.

          1. I did no such thing, I simply asked a question. You’ve basically committed libel.

          2. It’s just an expression. Also please refrain from potentially misgendering people.

    1. OK i will help you out. Sound Transit does not have a clue what they will do. They will have a public forum to make people like you “think” you have input, you don’t. In the end they do what they choose, as always. Clear now????

      1. yepper. just something else to plug the only ways in and out of ballard.
not sure what the city planners are thinking. you cannot get in and out of ballard as it is and they just keep cramming more apts and people and obstructions in here.
and they never ever seem to finish anything. lots and lots of projects in limbo.
and of course they will need more and more money to do their obstructions.
so ya know we are goimg to be taxed more. and dont forget their big story of how much they are improving “our” lives as we line their pockets.

What? You come off as someone who likes to complain for the sake of complaining.

The light rail is supposed to fix exactly the problems you are suggesting.

    1. Right on the edge of dense, walkable downtown Ballard. Yeah, what a terrible location!

You may want to remove the “wise” from your user handle.

      1. Choo Choo Trains, such forward thinking tech. A complete waste of money that will serve such a small percentage of commuters.

        1. Tell that to the entire rest of the world.

And while you are at it, tell us what you think is a better idea…more roads, flying cars, teleportation?
