A 39-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Ballard.
The hit-and-run happened at 1:20 a.m. on Feb. 1. According to Seattle Police, witnesses saw a pickup truck traveling eastbound on NW Market St when the driver hit the man. The driver then sped away.
SPD says people stopped to help the man who had been hit. Seattle Fire medics arrived and transferred the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
Police say it was the first of two hit-and-run fatalities in North Seattle that day. At 2 a.m., a 42-year-old man was struck by a silver sedan at N 125th Street and Aurora Avenue North in Bitter Lake. He also died from his injuries.
