A Ballard-based brewery will play a role in regional World Cup activities next year.
Stoup Brewing announced it will partner with the City of SeaTac as an official operator of one of the city’s activation sites for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which is set to bring matches to the Seattle region beginning June 15.
The brewery, which is based in Ballard, will operate a pop-up gathering space called “Stoup SeaTac City” at the Old Bank Building, located at 18400 International Boulevard. The site is scheduled to open June 1 and operate daily through at least July 19, with the possibility of extending through the end of 2026.
According to the announcement, the location will serve as a central hub for fans, residents, and visitors during the tournament. Plans for the site include daily match viewings on a large screen, food trucks, live entertainment, and community programming. The space is expected to accommodate approximately 250 guests.
Stoup SeaTac City is also planned to function as the city’s primary Friday and Saturday hub during the World Cup period, with expanded programming anticipated on those days. Operating hours are expected to run from about 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
In a statement, Stoup co-owners Brad Benson, Lara Zahaba, and Robyn Schumacher said they are “honored to create a space where community, culture, and soccer intersect” as part of the event.
The activation is part of a broader effort by the City of SeaTac to host World Cup-related activities and welcome visitors. The city has identified two additional activation sites, including one at Angle Lake known as “the Bullpen,” which will be operated by Métier Brewing Company.
City officials say the activation sites are intended to support local businesses and activate public spaces during the tournament, with plans for continued investment and programming after the World Cup concludes.
Additional details, including a full schedule of events, are expected to be released by the City of SeaTac in the coming weeks.
Stoup operates three locations in Seattle: Ballard, Capitol Hill, and Kenmore.
