“Comfort in the Images of Dogs” EXHIBIT OPENING! Thursday, October 17th, 2019 6 PM – 9 PM
In these days when we face a constant barrage of tough and upsetting news, art can offer balm for the soul, and dogs offer comfort and comedy. So to help sooth us as we enter the months of shorter, darker days, Ballardworks brings: “Comfort in the Images of Dogs”, a multi media group exhibition of artists’ representations of dogs.
In The Devil’s Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce offers this definition: “DOG, n. A kind of additional or subsidiary Deity designed to catch the overflow and surplus of the world’s worship.” And adds that for some, dogs take the “place to which there is no human … aspirant.”
Join us for the opening reception on October 17th, to celebrate the month of harvest. Please note that the front left door on Market Street will be open for this exhibit as well as the doors on 30th Avenue.
Note that the BallardWorks Artwalk has changed to the Third Thursday
of each month, 6:00-9:00 PM, so mark your calendars. We look forward to
seeing you! https://www.ballardnightout.com/
