This comics camp is best for students ages 8-12.

Welcome to Camp Comics! This class is a crash course in the fundamentals of comics for kids ages 8-12. Students will learn basic story structure, create characters, play improv story games, and try out different drawing styles and tools. At the end of the week each student will go home with a finished comic and a collection of their fellow campers’ work.

All materials are provided, including a sketchbook you can take home with you. Class is 10am – 1pm each day, Monday through Friday, with a break for lunch. Students are responsible for bringing their own snacks. We have a mini fridge and microwave available for student use.

Lucy Laybourn is an enthusiastic cartoonist and illustrator from Seattle, WA. She is passionate about comics as a tool for self expression, and is currently pursuing her BFA in Sequential Art from Savannah College of Art and Design.
