The 130th annual Seattle Norwegian 17th of May parade is this Friday, May 17th starting at 6pm. Information on all the May 17th festivities and the parade route can be found at https://www.17thofmay.org/

This announcement is to advise Ballard residents of the restricted parking before and during the parade.

In order to safely operate the parade, many local streets have to be free of parked cars on or near the parade route. The streets are kept clear near the parade staging area to accommodate increased traffic, large parade floats and vehicles and all along the parade route for viewing.

You may see NO PARKING barricades up in the below areas. The signs are posted at least 48 hours in advance to give everyone ample notice. Specific times are listed on the barricades, but are generally between 3:00 or 4:00pm and 8:00pm on May 17th. A few zones start at 1:00pm to accommodate revised Metro bus stops. Please remember to park off-street or nearby during these times so that your car won’t be towed from an area marked NO PARKING.

• NW 64th Street to NW 60th Street between 24th Ave and 28th Ave NW
• 24th Ave NW from NW 63rd Street to NW Market Street
• NW Market Street from 24th Ave NW to 22nd Ave NW
• 22nd Ave NW from NW Market Street to Ballard Ave NW
• Ballard Ave NW from Market Street to NW Dock Street
