Scouts & Crew 100 Christmas Tree Lot
November 28, 2020 @ 9:00 am - December 13, 2020 @ 9:00 pm
It’s Christmas tree time again for Scouts & Crew 100 Ballard. The Scouts will be selling Christmas trees for their annual fundraiser at St. Alphonsus’ parking lot. The Scouts help customers find the perfect tree, give it a fresh cut and use their Scouting skills to make sure trees are tied onto cars with proper knots.
Saturday Nov. 28 – Sunday Dec. 13
• Kickoff 9 am, Saturday, Nov. 28
• Thursday through Friday: 2 pm – 8 pm
• Saturday & Sunday: 9 am – 9 pm
This year’s lot features:
• Three varieties of fresh-cut trees ranging from 3’ – 9’+ tall:
• Noble Fir, Nordmann Fir, Sheared Douglas Fir, and Natural Douglas Fir
• Trees are delivered twice a week from local growers to ensure freshness.
• Fresh Holiday greenery: Deluxe Wreaths, Cedar Garland by the foot.
“The tree lot has always been a great example of the patrol method in action—older Scouts stepping up to teach traditional scouting skills like teamwork, leadership, and knots,” says Scout Master Patrick McCann. “This year will be different due to CoVid, but those scouting skills will continue to be passed on. I expect there to be an even larger feeling of tradition and community, as we get together to fundraise for the troop, support the community, and prepare for the holidays.”
Scouts & Crew 100 has been selling Christmas trees in the Ballard area since 1956. Buying a tree at the tree lot is a tradition with many Ballard families returning year after year. Proceeds from sales help send the Scouts to summer camp, operate their beloved “White Whale” bus and cover camping trips and activities expenses. The Scouts also donate trees to several local churches along with a portion of the proceeds to support local charities and local families in need.
For everyone’s safety, the troop is making modifications to the tree lot to be compliant with State & County Health Department guidelines. There will be more room for social distancing, and masks are required for all customers and staff.
