SUMMARY:Art Class: Cyanotype Prints
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Swoon City for Baubles and Botanicals: Exploring Cyanotypes\, a one-day workshop led by local cyanotype artist Audrey Lewis. Cyanotypes are a historic photographic process that uses sunlight to create rich blue prints from objects placed directly on light-sensitive paper. \nIn this warm\, welcoming\, and judgment-free space\, we’ll create our own cyanotype prints using pressed botanicals and pieces of jewelry. Though all materials will be provided you’re encouraged to bring small items from your own collection to make the experience even more personal. \nAudrey will guide you step-by-step through the entire process—from prepping your paper and arranging your composition\, to exposing your print in sunlight and finishing your final piece. We’ll also experiment with toning techniques using coffee and tea\, transforming the classic blue into soft\, earthy variations. \nThis workshop is all about experimentation\, curiosity\, and joy. By the end of the day\, you’ll leave with a small collection of one-of-a-kind prints and the confidence to continue exploring the cyanotype process on your own.

SUMMARY:Ashley McLeo Author Signing
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday August 22nd\, from noon – 3 pm for a book signing by author Ashley McLeo. \nAshley writes romantic fantasy novels about women and men who defy expectations\, have epic\, magical adventures\, and find love along the way. \nHere’s a synopsis of A Kingdom of Frost and Malice: \nBlood slave to courtier of the Winter fae . . . You’d think I’d moved up. \nI’m not so sure. \nThe auction block awaits and a vicious vampire prince wants me and what flows through my veins. \nSo I make a run for it\, only to end up falling at the feet of a fae warden. Technically\, Roar\, the Warden of the West should return me to the vampire court\, but he has other ideas. \nHe needs a fake fiancée. \nThe deal: if I play his dutiful partner at the Winter Court\, and help him trick the cold King of Winter\, Roar will hide me from the blood-suckers intent on draining the life from me. \nI agree\, and for a while\, it seems like nothing can go wrong. \nThat is\, until Vale\, Warden Roar’s nemesis\, sets his sights on me. \nA part of me likes the warrior prince’s attentions. Luckily\, the more sane part knows Prince Vale is not a fae to mess with. \nBesides\, I can’t dissolve my contract with Warden Roar. To do so would bring down the ire of the king and ruin my chances of earning my freedom. So I do my best to keep Roar and Vale from each other’s throats\, all the while convincing the Winter Court of my love for Roar. \nIt’s official: I’m a part of the deadly game of noble houses\, and losing could cost me everything. \nIf you like the political intrigue of Game of Thrones and the found family aspect and romances of ACOTAR\, one-click this romantic fantasy.
