SUMMARY:OK Tiger w/ Fern Spores and Fox & Bones
DESCRIPTION:Ok Tiger\nIn the eclectic musical landscape of Seattle\, Washington\, emerges the captivating presence of OK Tiger\, an entrancing cinematic indie folk pop band that has been making waves with their ethereal soundscapes. Founded by the dynamic singer-songwriters Mallory Holladay and Zack Olson\, the band’s evocative melodies and introspective lyrics have garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated following. \nFern Spores is a femme-folk-rock band rooted in Olympia\, WA. Gracefully flowing between vintage psych folk\, garage rock\, clever covers\, and soulful Americana ballads they curate a truly original sound.  Their songs are both anthems of empowerment and poignant reflections on life’s highs and lows. Angsty but uplifting\, whimsical yet fierce\, and as rock as it is roll. Drawing inspiration from musical legends like Janis Joplin\, Susan Tedeschi\, and The Runaways\, they infuse vintage tones with modern perspective. \nFox & Bones\nThe only thing better than dating someone in your band is dating no one in your band. At least it sure sounds that way according to the recent output from Portland based Post-Yacht Rock outfit Fox and Bones\, whose best work is coming directly following their split as a romantic duo. Or perhaps it was the addition of internationally acclaimed songwriter Greg Holden\, who joined the project as a producer for their 2024 album “Long Time Honey” and upcoming fifth studio record “Are We Still Having Fun”\, scheduled for release September of 2026. \nRegardless of what has codified the group\, the musical result is undeniable. “Are We Still Having Fun” is an expansive step forward for the band\, both lyrically and sonically\, as the duo tackles technology\, the modern political climate\, anxiety\, party culture and mental health under a musical tapestry that ranges from their familiar retro folk rock to modern Bleachers-esque indi-pop.  It is a plunge into the deep end after years of swimming on the surface. When combined with Holden’s surgical production and lyrical composition\, “Are We Still Having Fun” is primed to be Fox and Bones best record yet.

SUMMARY:Wicker Ways: Make Your Own Wicker Basket
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for the fantasy/romance/comedy\, Wicker\, in theaters starting Oct 23rd? As IMBD describes the movie: An ostracized fisherwoman commissions the local basketmaker to weave her a husband\, but when her wicker creation proves unexpectedly extraordinary\, his presence ignites jealousy and upheaval that threatens their quiet village. \nWhy have Peter Dinklage weave your baskets when you can weave your own? Learn the ultimate craft of the sea-side fables in our new hands-on workshop: Weave Your Own Wonder. Inspired by the movie\, this class teaches you how to turn simple reeds into a true masterpiece of structural integrity and soulful charm. Technically we’ll be making baskets using the core of the rattan palm plant\, a tropical vine that grows 200 to 600 feet across the jungle floor. Perfect for a new husband basket. \nWe’ll begin with lashing our spokes\, which create the ribs or framework for our vessels\, and then use weaver reeds to make patterns. We’ll bend the forms to our will\, and then finish off by locking our creations together with tight\, enduring knots that last through the changing seasons. Leave with a stunning basket that will get the whole village talking. \nThis class will take place at Swoon City. Our address is 1716 NW Market Street\, Seattle\, WA 98107. It’s at the intersection of 17th and NW Market Street – kitty corner from Mighty-O Donuts. \nPlease arrive at least 15 minutes before class begins. Since occasionally our dyed reeds can stain\, wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind if they got a little damp or splattered.
