Market Arms aiming to open in April

Workers are putting the finishing touches on the interior at the new pub on the southwest corner of Market & 24th.

Market Arms owner John Bayliss emailed us, “Well, we are over the hump and applying paint and varnish.” It’s been nearly nine months since we first announced that the owner of Fremont’s George & Dragon was expanding to Ballard and there’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. “After a long slog bringing plumbing and gas up from two floors below, completely rewiring the space, running a hood duct up 2 floors to the roof,” Bayliss writes, “We can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Bayliss is aiming to open the new pub next month. “The good people of Ballard should have their pub in approx 4 weeks,” he writes, putting the opening around the middle of April.
