    The City is proposing a new “Director’s rule” for the “transportation management programs” required with many impactful building proposals. (see http://web6.seattle.gov/DPD/LUIB/Notice.aspx?BID=1069&NID=20536)

    Among the changes proposed is the following: “Similarly, other items change from an indicator of “location dependent” to “recommended.” These include: “Reduce parking supply below market demand…”;”

    In other words, the official City recommendation for ALL building permits with transportation management programs will be to **reduce the number of available paid/unpaid onstreet/offstreet parking spaces**, presumably so as to make local parking so difficult that people give up driving and take a bus or Uber instead.
