SA, that video of Pink is mesmerizing !

I think Stevie Wonder looked and sounded sad.It was a weird sense I got.

I really enjoyed the duo of Carole King and Sara Bareilles. That was really cool.

I did not say anything about the pianist, he was wonderful in everything he did last night. I just pointed out that Metallica looked like they were punching their card and could care less.

I didn’t see the show last night, but I’m not surprised that Metallica phoned it in, after all it has been 25 years since they first played One live on the Grammys in ’89 (or maybe it was ’90).

Back then they totally killed with that song, and it was unlike anything seen before on the fairly straight-laced Grammys show. Today playing a “greatest hits” selection like that is probably just a precursor to them embarking on the tribal casino tour…

Edit: here’s the real deal: http://youtu.be/_7oZyWt7pGg

April, yeah, I watched again today. I enjoyed Carole King/Sara B also. Carole king’s Tapestry album had just come out and came along with me when I spent a summer camping throughout Europe

SA, have you ever had a chance to see Carole King perform live ? I haven’t but think it might be a good one.

When you hear songs from the Tapestry album, does it take you on a mini European vacation ?

Yes, I do go back to our long car rides!

Carole King showed up in a place in the west village-NYC as a surprise when we went to see Ellie Greenberg in the early 80s. this was a club! not a big arena– very special. These two song writers enjoying some time at the piano.

I meant to say Ellie Greenwich, not Greenberg.
