    I was forwarded this message:

“On Thursday, July 23, at 10:30 AM, Nyer Urness House, 1753 NW 56th
St, the Ballard Taskforce on Homelessness and Hunger will be meeting
to discuss the new tent encampments proposed by Mayor Murray, two of
    which are sited in Ballard:

Joining us for presentation and discussion will be Sharon Lee,
Executive Director of the Low Income Housing Institute (which has
proposed to offer case management at the encampment sites), Jody
Grage, member, Executive Board, Ballard District Council, and a
representative from Nickelsville, one of the organizations approved to
    administer the new encampments.”

The City ordinance regulating the homeless encampments specifies only one community meeting need take place before the encampment is opened — this is likely your only chance to make yourself heard.

Well there goes the neighborhood then….

VB – I can’t quite tell due to the small photo size, but is your avatar a raptor of some sort (vegan, I have no doubt!)?

FYI – The Ballard Taskforce meeting next week is NOT intended as a substitute for the public meeting(s) mandated by the encampment ordinance. It is simply to help inform the discussion by giving us a chance to hear from the encampment organizers and service provider. There will be time to ask questions of the organizers during the meeting.
