I’m in the same boat Shelly, tried NPR for a few days, but it’s sooo dry and serious. I guess I like my morning news with a large side of sarcasm and humor.

Now I just listen to music.

Actually phoo, your comment about dog owners is more accurately described as a fallacy than a generalization.

Yeah, just my armchair opinion, they could have passed a halyard, or other line that goes to the top of the mast, over to the upstream assist boat and had them pull straight down until the mast was free of the bridge. Then slowly pull the boat toward the locks while holding the mast down at the same angle until it is clear of the bridge.

Rudy, sailboats are extremely hard to roll over, you could have pulled the mast all the way down to the water and when you let go the boat would pop right back upright.

Just yesterday Mrs. Ernie and I were over in West Seattle and lamenting the fact that we were hosed out of the original monorail by the city’s forces of evil, and how that kept us from being whisked back to Ballard in a gleaming metal tube, high above the traffic jams, crumbling infrastructure, and botched tunnels below.

Shelly (and jburgh) thanks for the video link. That was very cool, it takes some skill to fly and pan the camera like that, and the lighting was nice, shot during the “golden hour”.

I think it’s funny that they (the media) call quadcopters “drones” now to try to cash in on the click-bait generated by the military/police drones used to spy on and kill people.

And Penny why are you being such a crabapple lately? It is possible for people to know stuff that they didn’t learn about on Wikipedia.

Is it the 5-Point where they have the periscope at the urinal where you can look in and see the Space Needle? Now that’s a dive bar bathroom feature if there ever was one…

That dude with the big afro was playing it last night. His singing was just ok, but his playing was quite good.

There’s more info on the program on the front page.

I’m with Edog on this one, it takes decades of neglect for a place to decline into a proper dive bar. I haven’t been to the Waterwheel, so can’t comment, but I’d only count the Golden City (old ‘n shitty), the Smokehouse, and maybe Wingmasters.

Kings Hardware is no more a dive bar than a hipster in a trucker hat is a truck driver.

As a kid in Bellingham we went to the “Baby M’s” games at Civic Field when they were the Mariner’s farm team. Fun, cheap, and always great seats.

Nice BH, the stones tune that comes to my mind, for whatever reason, when I’m reading about these evangelical churches or meeting their kooky followers is this one:

Well, you can’t always get what you want
But if you try some time, you just might find

    You get what you need

looks like the dog in what picture gracie?

The description of the dog in the OP pretty much describes one of my dogs, not missing btw, so a picture would help to narrow it down.

    +1 pennygirl, RichY, & BH!

FWIW, I smoked pot as a teenager before I had my first beer, and I turned out awesome!

What was idiotic about the route? Was it just that they had the audacity to ride where cars were trying to drive? A side street with traffic circles seems like a good route for cycling.

It is a shame that a few drivers had to pause for a moment to allow a group of their fellow citizens, who have just as much right to use the road, to pass by.

They should be stealing VWs instead for the Fahrvergnuegen.

That would be the case except that VW’s have had an “immobilizer” with a chipped key since at least the late 90’s, so they aren’t easy to steal…like Subarus.
