Gurple, I’m hoping the trail gets completed before someone like me dies of old age!

    From the MH website:

Please note that Pastor Mark Driscoll is generally unavilable for interviews through the end of 2014.

Hiding from criticism is not how “heterosexual, win-a-fight, punch-you-in-the-nose dudes” typically roll.

Not grammar police, just missing words make post hard to read. Point of forum is communication, not just follow rules.

    Service lacking @ Anthony’s IMHO.

Simple words like “I’m”, “we”, “they” “that’s”, and “it’s”, don’t take much effort to type, but they make sentences and paragraphs far easier to read than if they’re left out…

    FWIW, I recommend Maggie Bluffs.

“Two Years Before the Mast”…yes! That is a classic.

Non-fiction exploration and adventure is the best. “Endurance”, the account of Ernest Shackleton’s epic tale of survival is one of my favorite books ever.

Right now I am reading “Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine and the Murder of a President”. I’m only half way through, but it’s really interesting so far.

I agree GI, are people getting blocked again?

I’ll admit that this post contained a touch of troll-bait, but only 3 replies in 24 hrs? That’s like Queen Anne View territory.

They kind of need to define “big” and “small”, like which category does a Subway franchise fall into?

The Devil is in the details…

    Too bad.

I’m not sure about Ballard Ave, but Starbucks has been on Market for almost 30 years, undoubtedly longer than the author of that article has been alive.

If we do not address inequality we are facing another Golden age of Robber Barons and tenement dwellers. That in turn brought terrible hardship and social unrest. It caused starvation, dislocation, revolutions, a mass worldwide migration and numerous wars. Just for once can’t we TRY to do things in an easier more sensible manner?

    This^^

My work account *never* gets spam (except work spam), so it was really weird that I got an email about two Bartells this morning.

I just brought in the mail which (not weirdly) contained a flyer announcing two bartells.

They sure want everyone to know that there are two Bartells…

VB, the US and Canada have completely independent governments, aren’t England and Wales administered under basically the same set of laws more like PG’s US/WA example? Like, does Wales have it’s own Parliament?

I apologize if this is a dumb question, I always thought they were more closely tied governmentally.

Curtis, It’s a good bet that the owners are friends of hers :)

I haven’t been to Besalu for years, for me they’re good, but just not worth the ridiculous wait on the weekends.

RE: To-go-cups. A good place to go for those is also Cash and Carry by Mars Hill church, you can the real deal, just like at the coffee shop, by the sleeve in all the various sizes with matching lids. Good place to meet all your red Solo cup needs as well.

And, since splitting hairs is what MB is all about, a Mister2 could be classified as a “Classic” if it is one of the older models (older than 20 years) but “Vintage” refers to pre-1930 models.:)

Penny, a few weeks ago pretty much everyone was locked out of the site. I wasn’t able to post on the front page as Ernie, but I could make up a BS name and a fake email address and log on that way. All you have to do is look at the login form to see that registration is not required.

Anyway, Ballard Mom and others on the front page are engaging in a common form of expression called “Trolling”, intended to rile people up, and it appears to be working…

Considering that (unbelievably) there is no login requirement, and the story is linked here from their “news partner” the Seattle Times, the comments on the front page are suprisingly mild.

The principle of the thong is sound, it’s the execution that is often upsetting.

IIRC Primidone is converted to Phenobarbital in the bloodstream and actually carries a higher risk of liver disease, and similar side effects as does straight phenobarbital.

I’m sure that the Vet will be able to help the OP make the right choice for their dog’s specific case.

They can be very high res, especially if they are old.

Many of the images in the MOHI and UW archives are scanned from the original negatives that were often 5×7 or 8×10. A quick sample of some of the “Ballard” images on MOHI indicated that they were typically scanning at 3000 pixels which would look good (100-150dpi) printed up to 20″-30″ in the long direction. You could go even larger if people would be 5-10ft away when they were viewing them.

The Ballard Station pub has some very large historic Ballard photos, maybe go in there and take a look to see what you would be getting for graininess from an scanned image, and maybe you can find out how they ordered them.

I haven’t been able to post from my phone, which I use for 90% of my web surfing, but apparently I’m able to log on from my work computer. I’m even locked out of the front page where, as Shelly pointed out, no log in is required.

I’ve filled out the form 3 times and sent an email with no response.

I’m getting kind of tire of MB anyway, so if I’m never heard of again I guess it’ll mean I didn’t get white-listed.

I sure wish we had a site that was the caliber of West Seattle Blog in our neck of the woods.

Hey Geeky Swedes, I thought that you were going to require registration on the homepage, just like the forums. Allowing instant and anonymous posting is just going to lead to the tiresome, childish, shitshow that it was before going to Facebook.

All you have to do is reqire registration and it will weed out 90% of the drive-by a-holes.
