The SPD has their own blog, in case you haven’t seen it, and it reports a lot of the little events that don’t make it into the local media. The story about dealing with the homeless population is more expansive than their usual briefs. Check it out.
Several TV web sites report that the police have arrested a few car prowlers on the Eastside that may be linked to Seattle crimes – such as Westneat’s theft. It takes time to catch up with highly mobile crooks.
Citizens will need their guns for protection after the Republicans take over, cut entitlements, eliminate Social Security and then screw-up the economy again. Oh my!
I am sorry to see the Republicans gaining in the polls nationally. I guess people forget all the crud we’ve been through and go for the slick advertising.
That building would make a nice police station, mega-homeless shelter or nightclub. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Today, I was on Leary Way today renting a U Haul truck. The area is being trashed by transients. There’s numerous parked vans and cars crammed with trash and garbage. Litter all over the sidewalks and parking strips. If you need a shopping cart, swing by 11th NW and Leary and pick one up. Are the bums taking over?
Seems to be working, but there’s not much to rant about today.
The Mars Hill caliphate is crumbling. Maybe Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment will take over the building?09/13/2014 at 9:41 am in reply to: Rather than hijack the Mars Hill thread; regarding taxes and churches #72940
I think the movie, Philomena, sums it up for me.
I hope the President can successfully crush the radical Islamic movements known as ISIS, Hamas and al-Qaeda. Awful people with terrible goals.
Shoot, bummer! It’s gotten too crowded and too expensive for me. If you know those bands it might be worth it. They certainly have beer gardens scattered around. Great for people watching.
Hey, don’t forget McQ (1974) filmed in Seattle and the Washington coast.
Police Lieutenant Lon McQ (John Wayne) investigates the killing of his best friend and uncovers corrupt elements of the police department dealing in confiscated drugs.
Looks like the retail weed sales aren’t happening in Ballard today.
Shilshole Ave public parking?

Read it in the PI:
As Casey Kasem would say, out of the top ten trouble spots in the world, Iraq is back at number one this week.
No light at the end of the tunnel? Bertha will become part of NW lore and legend, like the Sasquatch, Galloping Gertie, Namu and Acres of Clams. I hear Knute Bell has a song ready to go.

Let’s see, a hillbilly with meth breath was impersonating a pastrami? I get it!
Cal Anderson park on Capitol Hill had to hire security guards because of similar problems. I am not sure how well that’s working, but there are far more crazy people on the hill than Ballard. Perhaps the Ballard Chamber of Commerce should hire one security guard to patrol on a segway scooter.
Doesn’t the Ballard Market have pastrami? I find the folks in the deli very friendly and helpful most of the time.
What is Beerated?
It’s a great day for the long time season ticket holders. I plan to view the event on TV.
Seems to be working for me, but how does one log out/off?
