As much as I think it is a good way for the homeless and lower income people to make some cash, and possibly a way to increase recycling, it invites intrusive behavior to our side and backyards. Was not a problem in that way in NYC, but does increase trash on the streets because of ripped open bags. Here, at least the recycles must be in containers.
So, I am conflicted.
Yeah Mondo, this Sim business is confusing. I thought only the newest iPads have an Apple Sim which enables one to purchase data plans from any of 5 carriers.
Is this what you are referring to? Do the older iPads have SIM cards? If so, can you change them out?
I used the early version of Line2 for the free month and never had an issue.06/30/2015 at 6:42 pm in reply to: Mayor Murray puts 2 out of 3 new homeless encampments in Ballard/Interbay #81280
@chris: Pisses me off that NEXT Door would react like that. In the past week they refused to remove a convicted sex offender from the membership citing that they cannot appear to be perusing and then reacting to people’s backgrounds.
@gi That must have been awful. I hope the game was worth it :). I go to seattle pottery supply ( a block past home depot) and it usually takes 15-20 min midday.
I would ride a train befor another bus. To me, not dealing with street traffic is the key; a no brainer choice
Hi, I lurk but am seldom interested in writing :)

There is another wonderful program– ‘Dress for Success’ which will take clothing, shoes, accessories, toiletries, makeup which is suitable for work.
Many womens’ services, including those for abused women, prison release, and women receiving welfare make use of the DFS boutique when women are going out for job interviews. The women are entitled to a complete outfit with at least one alternative look. When they land a job, they are welcomed back for more clothing. It is set up like a clothing shop and each woman is helped by a personal assistant (usually a volunteer) who makes certain every detail is as perfect as can be.
As a past volunteer in two cities, I can still remember many emotional encounters, but one stands out. This woman said she had never had anyone pay attention to her when shopping. In fact, she thought some stranger would just hand her a bag with some clothes already picked out, and, in tears, said never did she expect to be doted on by new friends!
Not everyone hates change :)
This “old Ballard” so many miss is made up of 1920s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 80s homes. Don’t you think that each group of people already residing, just hated the next newer group of homes? And now they all seem like “old Ballard”.
So chill, 30 yrs from now, these new homes will be part of the old.
1120 sq ft is smaller than my first apt!! And $640 per sq ft is crazy.
Insane price for that house. I wonder if the Reno for the bath and kitchen and the Sheetrock even totaled $158 (diff bet ask & sell). Staging nice but not included!
They are not reopening in the same spot. Still planning a Ballard shop, but I don’t yet know where.
NB, there is no formal opening. I am hanging the show on Tues, 4/14. If you want to get some others interested in lunch or dinner or Happy Hour that would be fun. Let me know on FB.
I agree Lou Lou
jburgh, that really sucks. do you want to email the ing to me and I will post it?
Sorry I got very sidetracked, but I waited for the new growth and yes, it is Arum Italicum. I love the leaf also; looks like what a friend calls “Chinese Evergreen”. She said she used to grow that indoors.
Thanks each of you for your help.
So is your plan to spray the dog or the human?
Once again, re the missing link: Apple will resolve the problem
It does grow here. I was hoping to get over to the location I saw it in but did not yet.
Curtis, do you have more than one of those pods? Or so you want to part with it?
Who me? Darling, my relationship of 3⃣0⃣‼️ years with Apple entitles me to know where they are and where they are going.
Mondo, what makes you say “rumor”. I never said it was a rumor.
My understanding is that Apple is well involved in negotiations.
As far as OAC, yes, it was a stretch! My flu may have led to my understanding– I read that OAC was involved as a party in negotiation. I didn’t read the thread thoroughly; but initiated my post to answer the thread title question.
Apple, Inc. (Computer) — That I am sure of.
I am not sure if the OAC mentioned above is OAC Punchlist and if so, does that mean its “owner” Borderless, Inc. is actually part of Apple, Inc.
As for the Missing Link tangent, I bet Apple will resolve that and may also resolve the issue with the Ballard Bridge ?underpass?
Who knows if the Missing Link has really been the Waiting Link
One word. Only 5 letters, but a BIG 5 letters
