Thanks for the feedback! I actually do have that Costco one already. Sounds like I need to experiment with it some more. I really do need to get the local news at least and I couldn’t live without Channel 9. That link from BuffaloHawk sounds very interesting, too.
So do you get all the local stations?
Last I heard they were opening the Fremont site first, but that they had also purchased the Ballard site and would do that next. I have mixed feelings about whether it will be the same or not, but let’s hope so.
This place is a jewel in Ballard, they have free live music 3 nights a week, cheap and strong drinks, and sometimes food. You can certainly go if you are not a member and be welcomed. No hipsters here!
Wow, once again Seattle voters really surprised me by voting for this one. All I’ve been reading is negativity and outright lies by the “no” people. I get really tired of outsiders funding campaigns full of mistruths. Thankfully most of us were able to see through that.
I believe we have been starving our parks for too long. The employees have been reduced to part-time and maintenance is falling behind. The levy system does not work. I am voting YES!
I agree with The Sloop, Waterwheel and Tin Hat and would add King’s, Lock and Keel, and Hatties Hat. New places cannot by definition be dive bars.
It is a football town, because for many years the Huskies were pretty much it around here. The Sonics were strongly supported when they were vying and winning the Championship. I remember when the Kingdome was filled with 30,000 people watching basketball. And then the M’s had their glory years when they were contending and featured players like Griffey, Randy, and A-Rod. They were getting 3 million a year in attendance. So yes, this city will support football, basketball, and baseball if there is a good team to attract them. I think the main theme here is that there is lots to do in this city, particularly in the summer, so a bad team isn’t going to convince people to leave the water or the mountains to watch them.
That sounds very interesting. I’ll check into it. I thought they were rats at first, but they were able to get the bait in a rat trap without setting it off and the droppings are very small.
Yes, cats are the easiest thing (or ferrets), and I’ll try to get my cats to go downstairs more often.
I am a cyclist and an automobilist. Bear in mind that it’s not necessary for a cyclist to actually stop and put his feet down if there are no cars there. As for cars, check out the intersection at NW 65th and 36th NW where cars constantly make that turn without even slowing down.
Hmmm, could you give me an example of a place in Ballard? So once you sign in at a Comcast hotspot will you automatically be signed in whenever you are in a hotspot?
The way I understand it, some places like Olaf’s, serve tater tots because they don’t have a deep fryer. Not being able to make fries, they make taters tots, which can be baked or microwaved.
I don’t really like them that much myself
I wonder when Five Guys is going to open.
It does sound like you overreacted a bit. I thought you are going to say he blew through the light.
Oh, God, now I we’ll have a year to hear Dori Monson telling us he told us so.
Indoor parking contest at the Ballard Blocks (of maybe the QFC). Contest starts with cars in the middle spots and you try to park quickly in the remaining slots without hitting the concrete posts. For extra fun there are cars behind you waiting very impatiently. Do it on a Sunday when the Mars Hill people are trying to sneak in, too.
Are those the same 2 that hang out at the Sloop?
I just love Dr. Lizzy Dean at The Family Pet. I have had several older cats treated for years. When they passed away she was very considerate and kind to me. I highly recommend them.
How come nobody is mentioning how strongly Ed Murray pushed it? Supposedly one of the reasons he decided to run against McGinn.
Just for the record, I don’t think people actually drink beer on that beer bike. The taps are just decorative. They stop at bars but the driver doesn’t drink.
