Paid parking coming to Fremont

After plenty of debate, the Seattle Department of Transportation has issued its final parking plan for Fremont. To park in the neighborhood’s retail core, you’ll soon pay $1.50 an hour, including this street next to the Rocket:

Outside the retail core, they’ll be time limits and parking restrictions for non-residents. The Fremont Chamber of Commerce has opposed the idea all along, but after making some concessions, the city is moving ahead and plans to begin installation in February. Fremont Universe has all the details.
