With the Seattle food truck industry in such high demand, a group of Ballard natives have come together to bring something truly unique to the neighborhood.
The businesses partners, including former Bad Albert’s Tap and Grill owner Steve Katsandres, will be opening a food truck “park” of sorts aptly named Ballard Bites and Brews.
According to a NOSH Pit report, the new establishment will merge the ever popular beer garden setting with a food truck pod to offer locals the best of both worlds.
Katsandres and his partners are currently working on the vacant lot at 1502 NW 50th St to transform it into Ballard Bites and Brews by April. The location is set to have up to four food truck spots where local favorites will rotate in and out during the day and night.
According to the report, a building within the new establishment is set to also house the “draft shack”, which will feature eight taps and various canned beers. The building will also boast a drive-thru espresso bar and breakfast sandwich shop set to open in the morning. A stage will also be constructed on the property for live music.
Ballard Bites and Brews is set to bring something different to the current Seattle food truck scene, namely ample seating, a variety of food options, entertainment and bathrooms.
Katsandres told NOSH Pit that he uses the term “park” to describe Ballard Bites and Brews because he “wants it to have a family, friendly neighborhood vibe to it.”
