  • Sunset Hill street clean-up
    November 7, 10:00am
    Annual Street Clean-Up sponsored by Sunset Hill Community Association on November 7th. Meet at the clubhouse (3003 NW 66th St) to get supplies and then we will go out to tidy up a couple of our streets--65th, 24th Ave, and Market St. Please join us.

  • 4th Annual Green Seattle Day
    November 7, 10:00am
    The Green Seattle Partnership is hosting the 4th Annual Green Seattle Day on Saturday Nov. 7th. Green Seattle Day is more than just a forest restoration event: it is the largest day of native tree and shrub planting of the year. It is also a recognition of the benefits of our urban forests, a celebration of our commitment to a healthy city, and a statement of Seattle’s strong sense of civic pride and community.   • Holiday craft fair
    November 7, 10:00am
    Ballard Community Center 4-H Club will host a Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6020 28th Ave NW. The fair already has 30 vendors signed up, and goods for sale will include hand-crafted silvery jewelry, wood carvings, Avon products, and much more. Proceeds from the fair will support 4-H activities at Ballard Community Center. The Ballard 4-H Club will also offer a baked potato bar and holiday treats at lunchtime.   • 16th Annual Santa Hop & Auction
    November 7, 4:15pm
    Saturday, November 7th is the 16th Annual Santa Hop & Auction to benefit the Forgoten Children's Fund. Doors open at 4:15 with a cocktail hour, dinner and auction following. Auction items include diamonds from Ben Bridge, Dine at Canlis, Anthony's, Dukes, Husky tickets, dance Lessons, autographs from, Dolly Parton, Bobby Flay, Steppenwolf, fill a Double Decker Bus with friends and cruise approx. 3hours, tickets to Jazz Alley, and Julia's w/show, collectibles from 1990 Seattle Goodwill Games, 1940's era gumball machine, Elvis collectibles from Hamilton House, be in Vern Fonk TV commercial and much more. Entertainment by Eric "Two Scoops" Moore and Dano as "Elvis" & "Johnny Cash", Cherry Cherry Band w/ Neil Diamond Tribute by Steve Kelly.   • Crown Hill Performing Arts Festival
    November 7, 6:30pm
    Crown Hill Arts Festival, November 7, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Evening performances in flamenco, Irish dance, yoga dance, African drumming, and ballet are scheduled amidst an art display and beer cellar raffle! And more -- the Gilbert and Sullivan Society will perform selections from one of their musicals. In the Crown Hill Center off Holman Road at 9250 14th Ave NW. These dance companies and schools are all resident right here in our neighborhood. This is a free event celebrating the talent and teaching that is available here in the local community.

  • Neighborhood plan meeting
    November 12, 6:00pm
    The Neighborhood Plan Advisory Committee and the Seattle Planning Commission are holding a second round of community meetings before presenting the final Status Reports and a State of the Neighborhood Report to the City Council and Mayor. The community meeting for our area is on November 12th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria of North Seattle Community College (9600 College Way N).

  • Ladies Night of Indulgence

  • CoolMom's 2nd Annual Holiday Toy Swap 'n' Sale

    Jumpstart your holiday shopping, save money and lower your carbon footprint. Greenwood / Ballard CoolMom has partnered with Family Works for this year's Toy Swap ‘n' Sale. At both events there will be information on how to make your holiday greener. CoolMom wants to help families reduce spending and their carbon footprint this holiday season. From Thanksgiving to New Years Day, household waste in the United States increases by more than 25%. By buying locally used toys instead of newly packaged toys purchased at several stores throughout the state or country, families can reduce their travel fuel consumption and reduce their impact on our recycling and landfill centers.     Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting three public meetings to help develop the park. At the first meeting on November 19th, Parks will gather input and learn what the community wants. At the second meeting on December 17th, the design team will present initial design concepts and the community can provide further input and direction. At the third meeting in early 2010, the team will present a preferred design developed from community input. All meetings will be held at Whittier Elementary (1320 NW 70th St) from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. More information on the park can be found here.

  • Gobble Wobble and Tofurky Trot
    November 21, 7:00am
    1ST ANNUAL GOBBLE WOBBLE AND TOFURKY TROT at the Loyal Heights Community Center on November 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Work off last-minute calories before the big day. Participants 10 and under can sprint, walk, jog or crawl the Gobble Wobble half mile! Older participants will compete in a 2-mile trot for the grand Tofurkey prize! Prizes are also awarded for best costumes and age group winners! All participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag. For more information, call 206-684-4052. The Gobble Wobble is $7, the Tofurkey Trot is $12.

  • Yulefest

    Celebrate the holiday season with the Nordic Heritage Museum’s 2009 Yulefest. Browse hand-crafted Scandinavian gifts, enjoy performances by a host of Scandinavian musical talent, dine on Nordic cuisine that will certainly inspire holiday cheer, and enjoy craft activities for children. Santa will also be attending Yulefest and hopes to visit all of the children who attend this year! Suggested donation is $3 for adults and $1 for children under 12; children under 3 are admitted free.
