Shopping for Ballard Corners Park

With work on Phase I complete at Ballard Corners Park on 17th Ave. — the playground, walkways and grass — volunteers have received bids for the next phase: the “corner store” entry, the “living room” (an outdoor seating area complete with a concrete couch) and the rain gardens. To help raise money for the final push, the park is selling tiles that are reminiscent of the old street name tiles along 20th Ave NW. Here’s an example…

For $100, you get a tile installed at the park. For $150, you also get a tile to take home — a great holiday shopping idea. Also, the Ballard Market is chipping in 1% of purchases to the park (keep your receipts for volunteers) and Fremont Place Books has promised to give 4% (mention Ballard Corners Park when you buy.)
