The weekend events calendar

Someone else’s trash can be your treasure… or just get rid of your trash. It’s a weekend of “reduce, reuse, recycle” around Ballard.

  • The Olympic Manor annual garage sale is both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to about 3 p.m. The main entrance into Olympic Manor is at 23rd Ave NW and NW 85th.
  • It’s not Ballard, but if you’re in the mood for a good deal and if you’ve got kids… The 65th Street Co-op is hosting a “gently used kids’ gear sale” on Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Phinney Neighborhood Center (6532 Phinney Ave. N), in the Community Hall.
  • Again, not Ballard, but close. Saturday is the Greenwood Garage Sale day. Check out the guide of what’s where and who’s selling what.
  • Saturday is “Dump Day” at the Loyal Heights Community Center. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. they’ll accept small appliances, rugs, furniture, etc. $2 per bag of trash; $5-20 for larger items. They’ll also accept recycling for $2 a bag. They’ll pack it all up and take it to the dump for you.
  • Rock of Ages Church is throwing a Community Carnival on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Free fun! Bouncy house, games, prizes, clown, refreshments at 316 N. 70th St.
  • Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. is the monthly Ballard ArtWalk.
  • Head to the Ballard Big House on the southwest corner of NW 61st St & 20th Ave NW on Saturday for a free performance by the Market Street Singers called “Let’s Misbehave: Songs About Bad Habits!” Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
  • For more live music, check out the calendars for the Sunset Tavern, The Bit Saloon, High Dive, Conor Byrne, Egan’s Ballard Jam House and Nectar. As always, check out our events calendar. And if you have an event to add, just email us at tips@myballard.com.

    1. Lock Vista apartment residents will have a yard sale on the corner of the property at 32nd and Market St on Sunday. I think it's 9 AM until 4 PM.
