Our favorite day of the year will soon be here! While the parade will sadly not be happening for a second year in a row, we are still planning a safe and fun Syttende Mai celebration inside and outside of the beer hall.

Syttende Mai (Norwegian Constitution Day) falls on a Monday (5/17) this year. We will be open extended hours from 12-10pm. You can expect traditional live music, flowing aquavit snaps, Norwegian inspired beers, featured cocktails, raffle prizes, and special perks for those who come in their bunads! Our front window will also be open for aquavit shots and pølse. As we do every year, 10% of our sales will be donated to the Sons of Norway Leif Erikson Lodge in Ballard.
We anticipate still being within Phase 3 of reopening in WA, meaning we will be strictly adhering to our 50% capacity rule inside the beer hall. With that said, space will be at a premium. We encourage you to make a reservation now if you plan to join us at www.skalballard.com. Our neighbors at La Carta have graciously allowed us to take over their outdoor seating for the whole day. If you can’t find a reservation, don’t get discouraged. Half of our seating will be left for walk-in guests and our walk-up window is available to all.

Live music will run from 2-930p.

If you are up for a walk, we welcome you to gather at Scandinavian Specialties on 15th at 5pm for an organized stroll downhill to the beer hall. Bunads and flags encouraged. Enroute you may also make a stop at the Leif Erikson lodge for a walk (or drive) thru dessert bar 🙂 running from 4-6p.
