Zagi’s Pizza on a field trip

Posted by Geeky Swedes on February 23rd, 2008

Lauren dropped us a note about Zagi’s Pizza on 80th St. “We called last night to order and their message said, ‘We will be closed until further notice. Please wish us luck.’ I am concerned because they are the best pizza in Seattle!”

We found this sign on the door:

    Hello there pizza fans
I just wanted to let you guys know that I am deeply sorry for closing shop. It has been a difficult road for me with Zagi's and it has come down to survival. I gave it all that I had, but without a cushion of $$ to make it through the slow times, I kept accruing debt. I could never break through the roof. The location had quite a bit to do with it. I rarely had buisiness after 8 pm. Nor did I have much of an advertising budget. The infrastructure was there, but some of the resources were not. I would love to re-open in Seattle sometime, but not until I have taken care of the financia obligations that have dragged me down. Again, I received much pleasure and fufillment serving you, and miss the neighboorhood. As you all know, times are tough; and with a value system that includes only the finest ingredients, I am unable to continue. I shall be making pies at festivals all over the country this summer. From Darrington, Wa to Bonnaroo in Tennessee. I shall have my calendar of events in a myspace site soon. Take care and be well.

  • I actually noticed that they weren't open on Feb 13th and wondered if they were getting ready for V-day. Makes more sense now.
  • NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

But, otoh, better to find out this way then when we pull up looking for a slice fix.

Well, at least the Veraci/Other Coast mess has been fixed and Veraci is back at the market.....
