Flash mob pillow fight this Sunday

Posted by Geeky Swedes on March 14th, 2008

If you’re feeling a little feisty this Sunday, bring your pillow to Bergen Place (that triangular park with the mural), on the Market St. side, between Ballard Ave. and 22nd. “Standard flash mob format,” reads the email that’s flying around. “Conceal your pillow, look busy. Listen for the whistle.” It’ll blow at 2:22 p.m., which is your cue to start swinging for five minutes. “When you hear the second whistle, stop fighting and walk away like nothing happened.”

This is what a flash mob pillow fight looked like in Boston. Arrrgh!

Walk away from a big fucking mess of feather goo for somebody else to clean up. Wow, you guys are soooo cool. In your own minds.

There wasn't feather goo. We walked the site twice and picked up shopping bags and little pieces of pillowcase. I personally picked up trash that was there when I arrived to pillow fight. Cities all over the world have pillow fights and no one cries about the feathers. They blow away, they decompose. Birds and other animals use them for their nests.

LISTEN! Their was no REASON for this event other then to show all those CONSUMERISTS in Ballard on their CELL PHONES that WHOA ART HAPPENS! You could see the big WHY? on their faces and I have news for them THERE IS NO WHY!!! This town does not appreciate ART and BUNGALOWS only SHOPPING AND CONDOS and something as genuin and beautiful as a PILLOW FIGHT draws such negative attention from peeps who DON'T UNDERSTAND! Obviously feathers come from BIRDS and GEESE and ORGANIC ANIMALS! Feathers fall off all the time but do the government and police pick them up NO!! LOL It is obvious that this town is so anti ART and anti IDEAS that even a pillow fight brings out the SOULLESS BEAST in every BALLARDITE!!!! IT's like that M. Ward song?
