‘Grand Opening’ celebration is planned for Saturday May 10th, starting about 10 am.
We hear rumors that Ray’s plans to do some free food that day so put it on your calendar and come out and enjoy the day.

The new bike trail has blocked access to the Purple Cow and other places that folks from lower Sunset Hill have used for decades via the pedestrian underpass beneath the BNSF tracks and over the Ballard International and Pacific tracks. After 50 years of use, it is now too dangerous (so says Mother Mayor Nickels) for common people to cross the tracks to get to the path behind Gordo’s. Besides, they left the bottom of the access trail a muddy mess from the construction equipment.

Awesome! Now what about the Missing Link?? Between Fred Meyer and the Locks is where cycling is really the most difficult. I don’t remember the Locks to Golden Gardens link being too harrowing in the first place, though it definitely is a nice looking bike trail.
