Fremont Classic pizzeria replaced by Rialto

May 14th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Rialto Pasta Bar & Grill has moved into the space occupied for years by The Fremont Classic Pizzeria and Trattoria on Fremont Avenue. A couple months ago a sign went up saying the restaurant was “closed for renovations,” making one think the Fremont Classic was getting a face-lift. Instead, the old sign came down last week and it reopened as Rialto, a popular restaurant previously located in the Green Lake neighborhood.

As you can probably guess from the name, the restaurant focuses on pasta dishes. No pizza, according to a restaurant employee, but several rotating specials are featured. There’s currently a lamb dish that will probably run out tonight and a sea scallop special that should go for a few days more.

This was long coming, Fremont Classic had been sliding downhill for awhile.

Went to Rialto tonight. It really is a quality place with great servers, tasty food.

Recommend pesto with spaghetti, add a chicken breast, and a pint of Mirror Pond.

    Check it out!
