Windows broken at two Market St. businesses

Posted by Geeky Swedes on May 27th, 2008

Vandals hit both Habitude and the Ballard Mail & Dispatch late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, according to police reports. At the salon, a rock shattered the window, causing $500 in damage. And a window at Mail & Dispatch was left with a one-foot hole. No word on suspects.

  • Walking by WingMasters this morning, looks like they had some windows broken/vandalized as well. Not sure if it's related.

"They’re angry because the buildings are ugly, inefficient, and should be demolished."

Ha, ha, right, must have been the 'yuppies'?

Now I get it Duncan - ha ha!

Yeah, sarcasm is a tough read - my bad... thx
  • Duncan
I guess sarcasm doesn't come through as well as I thought. It just seems like that's the M.O. of a lot of folks (our neighborhood troll included): if it's old, throw it out; if it's ugly and less than 3 stories, it's not worth saving.

Huh? Ugly is reason enough to deserve damage?

Regardless, beauty is in the eye of.... and obviously these building are efficient enough because they house successful businesses.

    Sorry Duncan - I don't get it.

Wow, Duncan - I think Habitude is a beautiful building.

They're angry because the buildings are ugly, inefficient, and should be demolished.

Do these degenerates live in Ballard and if so, why are they so angry that they need to damage hard working, small businesses?

    jules,
It was actually last Weds. night into Thurs. morning. It takes a few days for SPD to get the reports filed and media friendly (They redact some information like names and specific addresses of individual's homes).
