The most expensive real estate in Ballard?

Posted by Geeky Swedes on August 28th, 2008

Recently in the forum, BallardViking discovered this home for sale:

Look a little cozy? Well, the “condo alternative” measures just 325 square feet with a $199,999 price tag. “At $615 a foot, this has to be the most expensive piece of real estate in Ballard,” BallardViking writes. There’s also this 487 square foot house over in Greenwood selling for $259,950.

I lived in a 300-sq ft studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn for four years. It's totally doable (you just can't have a lot of stuff).

But here in Seattle, this is like paying 200k for a SHED. Totally ridiculous.

Overall price is very affordable, just not sure if that house is practical.

I wonder how long it would take the resell that thing.

    Look , affordable housing!
  • yikes-a-rama!

What it really looks like is someone subdividing their backyard... Which is possible since a lot of the homes in Ballard on what can be considered double lots.

260k for someones old shed?? Hardly affordable housing. Probably still smells like lawn clippings and pre-mix.

But you get the land too. That's a very key point that was left out. The lot size is 1,804 and that means no homeowner's dues also.
  • Ayles
You call that land? You are getting the foot print of the shed and that is all. Maybe slightly more but thats it.

    would you take 100k
