Partners

MyBallard is free to read — and we want to keep it that way. The site is supported by a mix of display advertising, reader memberships, and a small group of local Partners: Ballard-rooted businesses who chip in to keep neighborhood news, events, and community coverage going. We keep the Partner list short on purpose.

One business per category, vetted by us, and each one is a business we’d recommend to a neighbor without the check.

How MyBallard is Funded

Running a local news site isn’t free. Hosting, editorial time, event coverage, and the tools that keep MyBallard humming are paid for through three sources:

  1. Display advertising — the standard ads you see across the site help cover day-to-day costs.
  2. Patreon — readers can donate however much they’d like to support us.
  3. Local Partners — the businesses listed above, who go beyond a banner ad to back the site as named, long-term supporters. Together, these keep MyBallard independent and locally focused.

What Partners Get (and Don’t Get)

Partners receive:

  • A dedicated spot on this page with logo, description, and link
  • Recurring mentions in our newsletter
  • A permanent backlink from MyBallard

Partners do not get editorial influence. Coverage decisions stay with us — if a Partner does something newsworthy, good or bad, we cover it the same way we’d cover any other Ballard business.

Become a Partner

We’re selective — usually one business per category at a time. If you’re Ballard-rooted and want long-term neighborhood visibility alongside a publication your customers already read, let’s talk.

Good fit if you are:

  • Locally owned or strongly tied to Ballard
  • Looking for sustained presence, not a one-off promo
  • Comfortable with editorial independence

Thank you to our Partners, members, and advertisers for keeping MyBallard going.
