Taggers also hit new townhomes

Posted by Geeky Swedes on September 13th, 2008

It appears the same taggers who left their vulgar anti-New Ballard message in Old Ballard yesterday also hit the new townhomes on 22nd and 60th.

(Thanks David for the tip and photo!)

I like the anarchy symbol in the "A" in Ballard. Who are these people?

I secretly hope it is some kind of 70 year old hard core fisherman "old ballard" stud... but my guess is it is just some 16 year old kid looking for something to be pissed about.

Someone should give them a computer so they can blog about their "issues"

My guess is it's not even someone from Ballard. On the internet we know these people as "trolls" because they bait people into fights.

    Caw!

A little late to the conversation here...

Two and a half weeks ago, the same early Thursday morning that everyone heard firecrackers sounding like gunshots (I was awoken as well, right near the LH playfield) 7 houses on my block were hit with graffiti, as were 2 on the adjacent block. It wasn't just a little bit of graffiti either. Two entire garages were covered with it. We've been in contact with the North Precinct and they are finally giving our area around the playfield (notoriously troublesome after dark) some attention and patrols.

The people whose houses were damaged are furious that the neighborhood is now at the tipping point stage.

If you see or hear anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to call the police. And obviously, knowing your neighbors and keeping in good contact is paramount.

Thanks for the blog, Geeky Swedes. Good to know something like this exists for Ballardites, old and new.

While I think they're somewhat off the mark, I like these kids. Dissent is part of what makes Ballard a vibrant place.

Why didn't these idiots do something positive for the community?
  • if you call yourself a Ballardite then you'd of noticed there's nothing you can do positive to prevent franchises and more suburbanites moving into our space with their fuel injected suburban disorders. We have to itch the balls of Ballard from time to time to get the crud to notice we are a unique and vibrant social community (I'm not saying spray paint is the way to do it though). It's sad to see how Ballard is hitting a suicidal U-turn and seems to be becoming like everywhere else.
    Time to move to Fremont
