Carlyle wins legislative seat

With 39% of the vote counted, Reuven Carlyle is ahead of fellow Democrat John Burbank 65 to 35%, a separation that will likely not change drastically. You can get the latest results here.

Throughout the campaign and the candidate forums, Carlyle aligned himself with Obama, a strategy that appears to have worked wonders. “I am deeply inspired by the depth and thoughtful approach to our country’s challenges that Barack Obama brings to our public dialogue,” he wrote on his website. “I want to help bring that level of dialogue and solutions to state government and move beyond the old fashioned fistfights in Olympia of yesterday.”
