Warning to neighbors about suspicious man

Posted by Geeky Swedes on December 5th, 2008

We’ve received multiple copies of an email that’s circulating around the Whittier neighborhood of Ballard warning about a suspicious man who may be a registered sex offender. The Whittier Elementary PTA issued the warning about “a man in an older, small, red Toyota pickup truck,” driving around the area. “This person matches the description of Keith Gerald McFadden, a Lynnwood resident and registered Level 3 sex offender,” explains the warning, adding that McFadden drives this red Toyota pickup truck with the plate A05513V.

A description of McFadden’s criminal history on the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office website (search for his name to see his photo and more information) explains that years ago “McFadden would drive by the children several times and slow down, waving to them and would be exposing himself.” The Whittier PTA said a parent confronted the man believed to be McFadden last week and police were called, but he left before police responded. Keep in mind, McFadden has not committed any crime here and is not wanted by the police, but the PTA asks that you “please keep your eyes and ears open.”

Welcome to Eastern Germany, 1960s in Ballard!

LOL, love to watch the lefties expose their fascist roots. This guy's not guilty of a crime in Ballard, yet y'all are ready to get violent on him. Pacifists my ass.

If anyone slashes his tires, I hope he shoots them. That would be justice.

This explains why so many of you voted for a tyrant like Obama. (You know the one who wants to make mandatory "community service" law of the land: Just call him obamassa!)

Bow down before the one you serve, you're going to get what you deserve!

my stepdad is a child molester. he lives in auburn. anyone want his address?

Puggles, in Seattle, perverts have more rights than your children.

My children go to Whittier and I have to say that I'm *less* then impressed with the way the school administration has handled this.

They've known about this man for MONTHS and just RECENTLY decided to let the PTA VOTE on whether or not to tell the parents about this. The principals excuse when I talked to her? "We couldn't confirm it was a sex offender driving around in the truck. All we knew at the time was that the truck was registered to a sex offender, we didn't know if it was him specifically who was driving the truck."

    sharon,

"Once their debt is paid, let them live their lives. If they are such a threat that they need to monitored that should be part of their release requirements."

this man served his time. he's living his life in lynnwood. now his grooming kids in another neighborhood where he won't be recognized. the system fails far too much. you might want to rethink your argument.
  • Sharon
That's the paranoia I'm talking about. Once their debt is paid, let them live their lives. If they are such a threat that they need to monitored that should be part of their release requirements. As the parent of small children it's hard not to be crazy about this, but it's important to try not to over-react.

    That being said...

I'm going to get a little sketchy when a man who has been arrested for exposing himself to kids in his car starts driving around a school that he lives 30 minutes away from.

we should corral them up inside one massive gated car camp enclosure and lock em in "oooooooweee Cledus we done got them buzzards"
  • E/C
I must agree..build the car camps and they will come..wonder if May Lou Dickerson will be helping to watch out for the homeless sex offenders...?
  • Well, hey, you hominids can just form a mob, like my little crow brothers. Only, ya know, ya might make sure ya got the right guy before ya lynch him.

    Caw!

I thought pedophiles all drove white vans with no windows?
  • oh noes! get out the pitchforks!!!

  • Why don't they get forcefully neutered after their second offense? seems to prevent horny dogs from humping legs. Third offense deserves to get their willy knocked off.
  • Looney
Well, Sustainable Ballard and BHAC are not going to be checking the car campers police records (we don't want to violate their 'privacy' afterall since they are all 'victims') so who's to say this upstanding citizen won't move in and join in the fun?

What's to stop him? Can you tell me?
  • T-Rex
Yo Looney...nice of you to lump all homeless in the same bucket and slam Sustainable Ballard in the process...would you like a new broom to help you with your sweeping generalizations
  • T
After checking through the washington state sex offender list, I can't believe how many live in Ballard, especialy by the schools. Unbelieveable!!! Most are registered 2 and 3 offenders. It's nice how our lawenforcement notify people about this!!
  • seeing how im jobless i'd be all for riding around my old school whittier for their lunch, shooing off creepers, but seeing how I dress i'd probably be the suspicious looking one in other's eyes.
  • Looney
No doubt a future resident of Sustainable Ballard's pervert camp....sorry, 'homeless car camp'.
  • b lite
I agree with T, thank you for posting this info.
  • T
I'm glad this information was posted on this website. The police and lawinforcement wouldn't let anyone know about this freak! People need to know about this, especially when he's coming around kids!!Who knows what he's doing while the kids are in school.
  • Sharon
Normally I'm not the paranoid type, but this dude apparently lives in Lynwood. He has no reason to be driving around a school in Ballard, and knowing the nature of his previous crimes (Exposing himself in his car to kids) this is worrisome.

My child just started at Whittier on Monday - his first time at public school - and so I was totally freaked out about this. The school has been great though. Parents have been showing up at recess time to walk the perimeter of the schoolyard, and the teachers have talked to the kids in an honest and sensitive manner. They are having a child safety assembly next week for those kids who may not get the message from their parents.

On that note, the best thing we can do is talk to our kids openly and honestly about things that may be uncomfortable to talk about. Let them know that they need to be aware (not necessarily suspicious).
