Farmers Market, many Ballard stores open

Believe it or not, the Ballard Farmers Market is open for business.

About one third of the vendors were able to make it to Old Ballard.

And most businesses are open, too. Not as many shoppers as usual, but a good turnout considering the magnitude of last night’s snowfall.

Crown Hill resident Claude said he skied down to the market from 75th St.

A snowman adds a little holiday spirit to the Olsen Farms booth. Unlike the Ballard Farmers Market, the Fremont Market is closed today.

Bundled-up shoppers carefully cross Market St. Many stores are open here, too, on the last weekend shopping day before Christmas.

National Weather Service has just re-issued a winter storm warning. 3-6 more inches tonight.

Spouse and I snowshoed a few miles around Olympic Manor and Blue Ridge to visit friends.

Tullis was open and Bartells should you need anything from there.
Oh and if you want to work out...Ballard Health Club was open too.

all the food places on 24th our open....and I also saw that Starbucks and Tullys were open too. I just drove to Fred Meyer....lots of people shopping for this kind of weather. Streets are ok because it's just snow. However, when it melts a little more and becomes icy that will be "bad news bears".

I just talked to Majestic Bay Cinema and was told they are probably closing withing the hour.

If anyone knows which shops are open, it might be helpful to list them here. For both the neighbors who still have shopping to do and the fokls who might want to get out, play in the snow and support Ballard.

Wow - our Farmers' Market (different management) called it off days ago. Although we have word that ONE intrepid vendor is there anyway.
