My resolution is to find a pretty Ballard girl full of life and spend time in Ballard eating at all the great restaurants and creating a neighborhood full of sexy Ballard couples.

Happy new year, everyone. My resolution is to work for the community and city I love. To join the campaign to send Nickels back to Chicago and to put City Attorney Tom Carr on the bus back to New York. We love our city and want to keep it. We want people like Nick Licata to represent us and will pray that Peter Steinbrueck will take over and stop the madness while we still have any of our city left. This isn't about old and new, it's about preserving the essence of our city's character and soul and that of our Northwest. We are proud of it. We do not want a "world-class" McCity springing from a venal mayor's eye--if we did, we would have created it decades ago, no need to import a developers' puppet from Chicago. Our city is not a personal tinker-toy set here to fulfill an ego dream.

The conversation leans toward building community and veers right into poo...
    /sigh

after the snow, there was SOOO much poo. just because it's hidden, or there is no one looking, does not make it okay. my hub got it this morning.

I will try to be behind every tree, between every parked car and in every alley - cell phone camera poised, ready to snap pictures of individuals who fail to clean up after their mutts. I will attempt to make "Wanted" posters at Kinko’s and post them in the neighborhoods in which the indiscretions were committed within 24 hours. I this way, I will be saving the cleats, waffle treads, door mats and rugs of my fellow Ballardians everywhere.

    Happy Poo Year!

New Ballard + Old Ballard = NOW Ballard.

Lets start acting like a community in our 'hood - and on this blog. We all know it ain't that simple.

"common understanding that the neighborhood is changing regardless…"

Sounds great - New Ballard wins!

    Happy New Year!

I'm with joe on this one - Let resolve to no longer b*tch and complain about Old Ballard vs. New Ballard.

Instead - lets resolve to know our neighbors, to take care of each other, and to continue to build community.

    Happy New Year to all!

It think it would be awesome for our neighborhood to have the old Plymouth out there again, boardbrown!!

Plus, if you're near some of those new small condos like we have near BHS, they're built w/no off-street parking. And on some streets, the city has clamped down and now allows parking on just 1 side of the street. So you could meet some new neighbors who probably would love to pay to park in your garage :-)

Oh wait, I missread...you asked for a neighborhood resolution. Now I feel like a total dumbass.

To get the old Plymouth running again and driving down the road. It's been parked in the garage for 5 long years.

i would hope that the old vs. new ballard sniping would give way to a common understanding that the neighborhood is changing regardless...
