DEA raids Ballard medical marijuana dispensary

The Stranger is reporting that the Drug Enforcement Agency raided one of Ballard’s medical marijuana dispensaries today, along with 13 others in the Puget Sound area.

The DEA has apparently confirmed the raids but they won’t release any information. The raids included both branches of Seattle Cannabis Co-op, which includes the one pictured above at 7701 15th Ave NW.

“One person familiar with raids of the Seattle Cannabis Cooperative in Ballard and Rainier Valley says, ‘When the employees showed up, the DEA swarmed them and forced their way inside. The agents are hauling all of our [expletive] out into a van.'”

We’re told that Ballard dispensaries have closed down for the day, although we have not been able to confirm this.
