On Tuesday, March 27, Whittier Elementary will host an emergency preparedness meeting at 7 p.m. in the school’s library. Brad Wakeman from the Whittier Heights Community Council says block captains and all neighbors are welcome.
“We’ll be organizing ourselves about top priorities after a disaster including life safety tasks, search and rescue, meeting places in Whittier, and communication hubs in the neighborhood,” Wakeman tells us. The meeting will be facilitated by Mark Howard from the Office of Emergency Management.
