Hold onto your hats, oyster fans: the beloved Ballard oyster bar The Walrus and the Carpenter is debuting their very own oyster-slinging food truck this summer.

Renee Erickson from the restaurant says it won’t be your typical food truck. They plan to hire it out for parties or weddings, and hopefully at the Ballard Farmer’s Market. They just bought the truck a couple days ago, and are still working out the details. With all the permitting that needs to happen, Erickson says she expects a mid-summer debut for the truck, which they’re calling Narwhal.
